Compensation: $33 – $50 per hour DOE (Depending on Experience)-----

Key Responsibilities

As our Event Head Chef / Kitchen Captain, you will lead culinary execution at off-site events, ensuring flawless service, exceptional food quality, and smooth collaboration with the front-of-house team. You will:

Lead pack-out, loading, and unloading of event vehicles, and set up off-site kitchens/equipment.
Cook, season, reheat, plate, and expedite food during events.
Interface professionally with Front-of-House (FOH) teams to ensure seamless service.
Communicate with clients when needed, representing BZC with professionalism and hospitality.
Oversee the Back-of-House team with calm, confident leadership.
Maintain strict food safety, organization, and top-tier presentation.
Oversee breakdown, packing, and return of all equipment and perishables.
Ensure compliance with California rest/meal period laws.

Required Qualifications

Culinary training or equivalent experience.
Leadership experience in catering or restaurant kitchens.
Strong cooking technique, excellent plating, and presentation skills.
ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain).
Valid California driver’s license.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for long periods.
Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with FOH and clients.
A positive, team-first attitude and commitment to hospitality.

Flexible scheduling (weekdays, weekends, evenings, holidays).
