Part-Time Infant Nanny / Childcare Provider
We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and experienced infant caregiver to care for our 7-week-old son in our home beginning approximately September 8, 2026.
This is a small, part-time position that would be a great fit for someone who genuinely enjoys caring for young infants and is comfortable following a family’s established routines and parenting preferences.
Schedule
- Every other week: Monday–Wednesday
- Approximately 7:30 AM–12:30 PM
- Approximately 12–14 hours per week
- Approximately 4–4.5 hours per day
- Start date: Approximately September 8, 2026
- Guaranteed hours, with some flexibility when possible
Our older child will be attending kindergarten and will not be the caregiver’s responsibility.
About Our Baby
Our son is currently about 7 weeks old. He is exclusively breastfed and currently follows a typical newborn routine of eating, sleeping, and wake periods of approximately 1–2 hours.
He currently co-sleeps and is a contact napper, so applicants must be comfortable with holding/comforting him for naps and understand that independent crib naps are not currently part of his routine.
He may need approximately 1–2 bottles during the caregiver’s shift while I am away. Because he is breastfed, it is important that his caregiver is willing to carefully follow our specific feeding instructions and parenting preferences.
Responsibilities
The caregiver will be responsible for:
- Providing attentive, nurturing care for our infant
- Following all parent-provided feeding instructions and guidelines
- Bottle-feeding expressed breast milk as instructed
- Diapering and maintaining baby’s hygiene
- Comforting and soothing baby as needed
- Holding/contact napping baby as needed
- Following baby’s sleep and wake cues
- Providing age- and developmentally appropriate play and interaction
- Taking baby for walks when appropriate
- Washing bottles as needed
- Light tidying and organization of areas used during the shift
- Maintaining a simple daily log of baby’s activities, including feedings, diapers, naps, and anything notable
- Communicating with parents about anything concerning or noteworthy regarding baby’s care
The caregiver will not be responsible for our older child or general household cleaning.
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
- Patient, compassionate, empathetic, understanding, and respectful
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable caring for a very young infant
- Comfortable with contact naps and a co-sleeping family
- Willing to follow our parenting preferences and guidelines
- CPR/First Aid certified
- A non-smoker
- Vaccinated
- Able to provide 3–5 professional or childcare references
- Able to pass a background check, if requested
- In possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Comfortable working independently in our home
Our Home
We have cats and dogs in the home. Our dogs will be kenneled during childcare hours, but applicants must be comfortable being around household pets.
We also have Ring security cameras inside and outside of our home. These cameras are primarily in place for household safety, including monitoring our older child’s safety due to him occasionally attempting to leave the home independently. Applicants must be comfortable working in a home with cameras.
Compensation
$17–$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
We are looking for someone who is interested in building a dependable, long-term childcare arrangement and becoming someone our family can trust.
How to Apply
Please include:
- A brief introduction about yourself
- Your experience caring for infants, particularly newborns
- Your CPR/First Aid certification status
- Your availability for the schedule listed above
- Your hourly rate/expectations
- Confirmation that you have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- 3–5 childcare or professional references
We are looking for someone who will treat our baby with the same patience, care, and respect that we do. If you are nurturing, dependable, attentive, and comfortable following a family’s specific routines and parenting choices, we would love to hear from you!
