Entry Level Woodworker
Specialty Woodworks Company is a very well established (1981), safety conscious, high-end door and cabinet company located in Hamilton, Montana. We are seeking to fill an entry- level woodworking position. Wage is $15.00 - $18.00 per hour depending upon experience.

Specialty Woodworks will provide extensive training on all aspects of this job.
JOB DESCRIPTION: ENTRY LEVEL WOODWORKER
Summary: Cut, laminate, size and assemble wooden pieces. Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines such as table saws, cut-off saws, jointers, planer and glue press. Work includes surfacing, cutting and laminating lumber in preparation for fabricating parts.
Responsibilities we will train for:
Lumber Grader: Has to grade and separate boards for different requirements. Has to know what defects can be tolerated depending on where wood is to be used.
Fork Lift Operator: Has to be able to operate both a gas and electric fork lift in a safe manner. Required to know general and safety maintenance of machines. Training and certification will be provided.
Planer Operator/Set Up: Requires knowledge of planer machine. Setting for thickness and feed speed. Will provide training to be able to read grain to know what direction to feed wood into machine.
Radial Arm Saw Operator: Must be able to read tape measure accurately. Will train to know machine and learn how to use it safely.
Jointer Operator: Has to learn to set up machine and adjust for depth of cut.
Table Saw Operator: Must know safe operation of table saw and its setup-- including automatic power feed. Will train for safe operation of saws.
Door Assembler: Must be able to assist in the assembly of over 12 different standard styles of doors and whatever custom designs arise. Must know door terminology and our efficient system. Quality jointery is stressed. Training provided.
Drum/Wide Belt Sander Tailer: Will work with Drum Sander operator receiving parts as they come out of the sander and restacking them on carts.
Finish Sander: Must know how to sand a door/cabinet parts to our high quality standards.
Will be able to repair defects in the wood (this is an important step that reflects our quality), repairing loose knots, missing knots, splits, grain tear-out, pitch pockets, worm holes. Training provided.
Work Context:
* Normal work hours are Monday - Thursday 6:30a.m. to 5:00p.m.
* Indoors, mostly environmentally controlled.
* Position requires heavy lifting from time to time.
* Position requires long hours of standing on cement floor.
* Wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, and dust masks. (all provided)
* Spend time using your hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
* Face to face discussions
