Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our busy, but small, orthopedic practice. This full-time position combines clinical patient care, medical scribing, and administrative support. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is eager to learn orthopedic procedures, and is committed to providing outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities

Serve as a medical scribe by accompanying the provider during patient visits and documenting encounters accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Record patient histories, physical examination findings, assessments, treatment plans, prescriptions, patient education, and follow-up instructions as dictated by the provider.
Room patients, review medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Assist physicians with orthopedic procedures, injections, splinting, casting, and other clinical duties as assigned.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies.
Schedule appointments, answer telephone calls, process referrals and prior authorizations, and assist with other front-office duties.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic policies.
Work collaboratively with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required.
Previous experience in a medical office or medical scribing preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records.
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty practice.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
