Hello,
Are you smart, capable, and always ready for an adventure? If so, this may be the perfect childcare opportunity for you!
At Jovie Newport Beach, we believe in the magic of childhood and are looking for caregivers who share our passion for helping children learn, grow, and thrive. If babysitting feels more like play than work and you naturally gravitate toward engaging with kids, we’d love to meet you.
For over 20 years, Jovie (formerly College Nannies + Sitters) has been a trusted childcare provider serving families across the United States. Our mission is simple: Building Stronger Families. We provide our caregivers with support, flexibility, and opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
Your Role:
A warm and welcoming family in Huntington Beach is seeking a dependable, energetic, and playful nanny for their young son, born in June 2025. He is a very active little boy who enjoys staying busy, playing, and exploring. The family needs care on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM and is hoping to find someone who wants to build a long-term relationship with their family and be there as their son grows, ideally for at least one year.
Dad works from home and will always be present during the nanny’s shifts. He is comfortable being asked for help or guidance whenever needed. Mom works outside of the home and will not be present during the nanny’s shifts. The family would especially love to find someone who speaks Spanish and can naturally incorporate Spanish into their son’s daily routine. Ideally, they are looking for someone who grew up speaking Spanish as their first language.
This is a great opportunity for an active and engaging nanny who loves getting outside, playing, and creating fun, developmentally appropriate experiences throughout the day.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for the child throughout the day.
- Following the child’s established routine, including three meals, two snacks, and one nap around 11:00 AM.
- Preparing and serving healthy meals and snacks for the child.
- Supporting age-appropriate development through reading, music, sensory activities, creative play, and interactive games.
- Engaging the child in active, energetic, and playful activities throughout the day.
- Planning fun, screen-free activities that encourage exploration, movement, learning, and independence.
- Spending time outdoors and taking the child on walks or other age-appropriate outings when desired.
- Incorporating Spanish naturally into the child’s daily activities, conversations, books, songs, and play.
- Keeping the child’s eating and play areas clean and organized.
- Washing dishes, bottles, and other items used throughout the child’s day.
- Helping with the child’s laundry and keeping his toys, bedroom, and play spaces organized.
- Maintaining consistent routines and creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
- Communicating with Dad regarding meals, naps, activities, and daily updates.
- Providing occasional support with outings if the nanny is comfortable driving the child. Transportation is not required for this position.
- The family has two wiener dogs in the home. The nanny will not be responsible for their care, but if she enjoys walking dogs, she is welcome to take them along on walks with the child.
