With multiple locations across the West Coast, our focus is building high-performing teams, delivering high-quality work, and creating a top-tier customer experience from start to finish.

Position Overview

We are hiring a General Manager to lead our Arizona location. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving revenue, managing daily operations, and building a high-performing team.

This position requires a strong combination of technical knowledge, sales ability, and operational control. The ideal candidate can confidently guide customers through complete vehicle builds while ensuring the shop runs efficiently and profitably.

You will be responsible for translating customer goals into full build plans with the team along with making sure the store runs smooth and efficiently

Responsibilities

Technical Sales & Customer Consultation

Understand and confidently discuss suspension systems, armor, wheels/tires, and electrical upgrades
Translate customer goals into complete vehicle build plans
Expand initial requests into full build solutions that increase performance and ticket size
Guide customers through product selection, brands, and build strategy

Revenue Generation & Sales Performance

Convert leads and walk-in traffic into high-value builds ($5K–$50K+)
Drive retail and commercial sales growth
Upsell relevant products and systems based on customer needs
Build trust quickly with enthusiast and commercial customers
Maintain focus on revenue, margins, and overall profitability

Shop Operations & Workflow Management

Manage job scheduling, technician workload, and shop flow
Coordinate parts ordering and timing to support builds
Maintain organization across multiple active projects
Anticipate and resolve delays, scope changes, and parts issues
Ensure builds are completed on time and to standard

Customer Experience & Issue Resolution

Set clear expectations on timelines, scope, and pricing
Communicate proactively throughout each build
Handle delays, changes, and concerns professionally
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and protect brand reputation

Ownership & Accountability

Take full responsibility for store performance, including revenue and margins
Monitor job profitability and labor efficiency
Identify and solve problems before they impact the business
Oversee projects from initial consultation through final delivery

Team Leadership & Culture

Lead and manage sales and operations staff
Set expectations, track performance, and hold team accountable
Support employee development and training
Contribute to a performance-driven, no-nonsense work environment
Represent MULE within the local off-road and overland community

Requirements

3+ years of management or leadership experience
Strong sales background with proven ability to close high-ticket items
Working knowledge of suspension systems, armor, wheels/tires, and vehicle accessories
Ability to translate customer goals into full build plans with the team
Experience managing workflow, scheduling, and multiple projects
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Preferred:

Automotive aftermarket, off-road, or overland industry experience
Experience with shop management or inventory systems
