Full Job Description

Plant Engineer | Full-Time, Nights | Methodist Hospital

Methodist Hospital is hiring Plant Engineers for the Night shift to oversee daily plant operations within the hospital, ensuring the efficient functioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. These roles include performing maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and upholding safety and compliance standards to maintain a reliable environment for patient care. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates, along with applicable shift differentials.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Facility Systems Operation: Operates boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, medical gas systems, refrigeration, and other essential equipment, following policies to maintain a safe and comfortable healthcare environment.
Emergency Power Management: Tests and operates the Emergency Generator and Transfer Switch System per Joint Commission Standards to ensure uninterrupted power during outages.
HVAC & Automation: Manages HVAC, building automation, refrigeration monitoring, and patient care systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions in healthcare facilities.
Maintenance & Repairs: Performs scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment inspections, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with maintenance schedules.
Water & Inventory Management: Conducts water testing, adjusts chemical levels, maintains inventory of parts and supplies, and documents all maintenance activities for efficient facility operations.

Night: Wed-Sat 9pm to 7:30am

Salary:

Pay starts at $30.00 an hour and can go up based on experience
$2,500 sign-on bonus
Shift differential

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) required.
Valid and current driver's license required.
1 – 2 years previous experience in steam plant operations required.
1 – 2 years previous experience in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) required.
1 – 2 years experience in troubleshooting equipment in mechanical or electrical fields preferred.
1 year previous experience in hospital plant operations preferred.
Third Grade Engineers License required
