Get Simple Box is hiring a CDL Class A / Delivery Driver to deliver and pick up portable storage containers in Skagit, Whatcom, and Island Counties.
This is a local, Monday–Friday position with a steady schedule and home every night.
Important: This is not just a driving job.
Our drivers operate the truck, trailer hydraulics, and forklift. They safely place and pick up storage containers, work at customer homes and businesses, prepare and clean containers, and help keep our equipment and operation running smoothly.
We are looking for someone who is careful, dependable, mechanically comfortable, and takes responsibility for their work. You should be comfortable working independently, operating equipment, working with customers, and making good decisions in the field.
The most important part of this job is simple: Take your time, pay attention, and protect the customer's property.
What You'll Do:
- Safely drive a Class A truck and trailer throughout Skagit, Whatcom, and Island Counties
- Deliver and pick up 20ft and 40ft storage containers
- Position containers at homes, businesses, construction sites, and other customer locations
- Safely navigate driveways, residential neighborhoods, construction sites, and other locations with limited space
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Keep the truck and trailer clean, organized, and ready to work
Operate Equipment
- Operate the trailer's hydraulic system to safely load, unload, and place containers
- Operate a forklift when needed
- Learn and follow proper procedures for operating company equipment
- Inspect equipment and report problems promptly
- Use good judgment when operating equipment around people, buildings, vehicles, landscaping, fences, and other property
Work Safely at Customer Sites
- Check the site before moving or positioning a container
- Watch for fences, buildings, vehicles, landscaping, driveways, overhead wires, underground concerns, and other obstacles
- Get out of the truck and check your surroundings when needed
- Stop and ask for help when you are not sure a delivery can be completed safely
- Protect driveways, landscaping, fences, buildings, vehicles, and other customer property
- Communicate with the customer when access or site conditions create a problem
Help Maintain Our Containers & Equipment
When the delivery schedule allows, drivers also help with work back at our yard, including:
- Sweeping and cleaning containers
- Pressure washing containers and equipment
- Applying decals and preparing containers for customers
- Taking photos of containers and completed jobs
- Staging containers for future deliveries
- General cleanup and organization
- Helping keep the yard, truck, trailer, and equipment clean and ready for the next job
There will be times when the day is busy with deliveries and times when there is other work to do. We expect our drivers to be willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
What Success Looks Like
You protect customer property.
You pay attention to your surroundings and take the time to make sure you have a safe plan before moving a container.
You don't rush difficult deliveries.
If you are not sure you have enough room or something doesn't look right, you stop, get out, check, and reassess.
You operate equipment carefully.
You understand that the truck, trailer, hydraulics, forklift, and containers are tools that must be operated safely and responsibly.
You communicate early.
If there is a problem, delay, difficult site, or change in plans, you let the team know instead of hiding the problem or hoping it goes away.
You work efficiently without cutting corners.
We want to get our jobs done on time, but safety and protecting customer property always come first.
You take responsibility for your work.
You admit mistakes, learn from them, and work to prevent the same problem from happening again.
You are willing to work, not just drive.
When there is time between deliveries, you are willing to clean, pressure wash, prep containers, organize equipment, or help with other work that needs to be done.
You treat customers with respect.
You are professional and courteous when you are working at someone's home or business.

- Comfortable operating equipment or willing and able to learn

- Comfortable making deliveries in tight or difficult locations

- Dependable and consistent
- Takes responsibility for their work
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Willing to listen to feedback and learn
- Able to stay calm and make good decisions when a delivery does not go as planned
- Comfortable doing physical work throughout the day
