Full Job Description

PayComp is transforming how businesses manage workers’ compensation insurance premiums. Our proprietary platform, the WOPR (Workers’ Compensation Operational Payroll Reporter), integrates directly with payroll providers to deliver real-time, accurate premium reporting to insurance carriers. By replacing outdated estimates with actual payroll data, PayComp eliminates year-end audit surprises and gives businesses greater control over their cash flow. Our ecosystem is powered by partnerships with insurance carriers, managing general agents (MGAs), payroll providers, insurance networks, and independent insurance brokers across the United States.

Position Summary
The Broker Channel Account Manager is PayComp’s dedicated relationship owner for a portfolio of independent insurance broker agencies. This role is the engine of PayComp’s revenue growth—brokers are the distribution channel that drives client volume onto the platform, and the Broker Channel Account Manager is responsible for ensuring that every broker in their portfolio is actively engaged, submitting clients, and growing their use of PayComp’s integration services. While the Sales Engineer / Strategic Partnership Manager focuses on acquiring new broker partnerships and attending industry events, the Broker Channel Account Manager takes ownership of those relationships post-activation—driving adoption, deepening engagement, maximizing client submissions, and ensuring long-term retention. This is a relationship-driven, revenue-accountable role where success is measured by how many clients your brokers are actively putting through the WOPR platform and how much revenue your portfolio generates

Key Responsibilities

Broker Portfolio Management & Relationship Ownership

Own and manage a dedicated portfolio of independent insurance broker agencies, serving as their primary point of contact at PayComp for all account-related matters.
Build deep, trusted relationships with broker agency principals, producers, account managers, and support staff—becoming their go-to resource for workers’ compensation premium reporting through PayComp.
Conduct regular check-ins, account reviews, and relationship touchpoints with each broker in your portfolio, maintaining a consistent communication cadence that keeps PayComp top-of-mind.
Develop a thorough understanding of each broker’s book of business, client base, carrier appointments, and growth priorities, enabling you to identify opportunities for increased PayComp adoption.
Serve as the voice of your broker partners internally, advocating for their needs and feedback with the Client Success Manager, Technology Solutions Manager, and leadership team.
Maintain detailed, up-to-date records of all broker interactions, account status, and activity in the CRM system

Broker Activation & Client Submission Growth

Drive broker activation—ensuring that newly onboarded broker partners move quickly from signed agreement to actively submitting their first clients for PayComp integration.
Work with each broker to identify eligible clients in their book of business who would benefit from PayComp’s pay-as-you-go workers’ compensation reporting, coaching brokers on how to position the solution.
Set and track client submission targets for each broker in your portfolio, proactively working with underperforming brokers to remove barriers and accelerate adoption.
Develop broker-specific growth plans that outline target client counts, submission timelines, and the support needed from PayComp to achieve those goals.
Identify cross-selling and expansion opportunities within each broker’s client base, including clients with multiple locations, seasonal workforces, or high workers’ comp premium volume.
Track and report on key adoption metrics including clients submitted per broker, activation rates, time-to-first-submission, and portfolio-level revenue contribution.

Broker Education & Enablement

Train broker teams on PayComp’s platform, client submission process, and value proposition
Deliver webinars, lunch-and-learns, and one-on-one coaching on pay-as-you-go workers’ comp benefits
Provide brokers with sales tools, talk tracks, and marketing materials to facilitate client conversations
Update brokers on carrier integrations, payroll providers, and platform enhancements
Share best practices and success stories to improve agency performance
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop broker-facing content and adoption campaigns

Revenue Growth & Retention

Manage revenue from assigned broker portfolio, meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual targets
Monitor broker engagement and client submissions, addressing declines or at-risk relationships
Develop and execute retention strategies to reinforce PayComp’s value
Identify and pursue referral opportunities within the broker network
Track and report portfolio metrics: revenue, growth, client count, retention, and average revenue per broker
Collaborate with Sales Engineer/Strategic Partnership Manager on upsell and expansion opportunities

Issue Resolution & Broker Advocacy

Serve as primary escalation point for broker issues with onboarding, reporting, or platform services
Coordinate with Client Success and operations teams to resolve issues promptly
Manage broker expectations during integrations, updates, or service disruptions with clear communication
Escalate systemic or high-priority issues to leadership with context and recommendations
Document issues, resolutions, and feedback in CRM to build a knowledge base
Follow up with brokers post-resolution to ensure satisfaction and reinforce support

Broker Onboarding Support

CRM, Reporting & Pipeline Management

Requirements

3+ years of experience in account management, channel sales, partner management, or client success, with a strong track record of managing a portfolio of B2B relationships and driving revenue growth.
Demonstrated experience building and nurturing long-term business relationships, particularly with brokers, agents, channel partners, or similar intermediary/distribution partners.
Revenue accountability—experience owning and delivering against portfolio-level revenue or growth targets.
Strong consultative and coaching skills—able to educate brokers on how to position PayComp to their clients and help them see the revenue and retention opportunity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, personable, and responsive communication style.
Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and disciplined account management practices.
Highly organized with the ability to manage a portfolio of 50–100+ broker relationships simultaneously without losing touch with any partner.
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and prioritize based on revenue impact.
Comfortable delivering presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations to small and medium-sized groups.
Startup mentality—comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment where you’ll help define what great broker account management looks like at PayComp.

Compensation & Growth

Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus a performance-based bonus or commission structure tied to portfolio revenue growth, client submission volume, and broker retention metrics. As PayComp’s broker network grows, high-performing Broker Channel Account Managers will have the opportunity to take on larger portfolios, mentor new team members, and grow into senior account management or channel leadership roles.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
