Accounts Payable Specialist

Metalex Manufacturing, Inc. Cincinnati metropolitan area, Ohio, United States (On-site)

Position Overview

Metalex is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and collaborating with others, this is an excellent opportunity to build your accounting career with an established company that values and rewards committed teammates who are eager to learn and grow.

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays an important role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, expense reporting, and month-end accounting activities. This position works closely with vendors as well as our purchasing, operations, and management teams to resolve issues, maintain accurate financial records, and keep accounting processes running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure proper approvals

· Review transactions for proper coding, documentation and accuracy

· Investigate and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies

· Prepare and process payments, including checks and electronic payments

· Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records

· Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports to support operational and business reporting needs

· Support month-end and year-end close activities by preparing reports, reconciling data, and assisting with accounting processes as needed

Collaboration & Support

· Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams

· Support the Controller and Treasurer with projects and reporting

· Help maintain documentation and improve accounting processes

Qualifications

· Experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

· Experience with ERP systems (AS400 or similar systems preferred)

· Associate degree in Accounting or related experience is a plus
