COMMUNITY RESOURCE NAVIGATOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Resource Identification: Research, identify, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of UWSELA programs and of available resources, services, and programs in the community, including but not limited to housing, healthcare, education, employment, legal aid, and social services. Develop a Resource Directory for each of the UWSELA parishes in partnership with UWSELA marketing team.
2. Information and Referral: Provide clear, accurate, and timely information to community residents regarding available resources and guide them through the process of accessing these resources.
3. Crisis Intervention: Provide support and assistance to residents facing immediate crises or emergencies, providing information on available resources in their community and how to access them.
4. Community Relationship Building: Work in tandem with UWSELA’s Resource Development and Community Impact teams to actively seek out opportunities to identify key stakeholders in the community and develop meaningful relationships
5. Community Events: Partner with Resource Development and actively participate in outreach efforts and events (resource fairs, informational events, healthcare events, faith-based events, community meetings, key stakeholder meetings) to share information, inclusive of UWSELA programs and initiatives.
6. Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members (Community Impact, Resource Development, and Marketing), community partners, and agencies to coordinate and enhance service delivery.
7. Community Connections: Identify and build relationships with Community Resource Navigators in each parish and build out a community of practice to ensure connections and sharing of resources.
8. Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices and industry trends related to resource navigation and social services.
9. Cultural Competency: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an understanding of diverse populations, ensuring services are inclusive and accessible to all.
10. Documentation: Complete all required paperwork, reports (Outreach log) and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
11. Travel: Develop a weekly schedule and travel to assigned parishes
COMMUNITY RESOURCE NAVIGATOR JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field
Experience: Relevant experience in resource navigation, case management, or social services
Candidates must live in and/or have strong community ties in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa or Washington parishes.

Work Environment:
This position requires travel to sites within Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
