ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Lead and manage the plant engineering, maintenance, and related teams, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and environmental awareness.
· Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, reliability initiatives, and troubleshooting protocols to optimize equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
· Manage capital projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, planning, vendor selection, installation, and commissioning of new equipment or facility upgrades, ensuring all projects incorporate EHS and quality considerations (e.g., risk assessments, safe design principles, and process capability).
· Drive continuous improvement efforts using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to enhance processes, reduce waste, improve operational efficiency, and elevate product quality. Implement HOP to build a culture of world class Safety performance.
· Oversee and ensure compliance with EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA), quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or industry-specific certifications), and other relevant requirements; conduct or coordinate audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and quality non-conformance reviews.
· Promote a strong safety and quality culture by leading EHS and quality training, emergency response planning, ergonomic improvements, implementation of safe work practices, and quality assurance protocols across engineering and maintenance activities.
· Collaborate with production, operations, quality assurance/quality control, and dedicated EHS teams to support daily plant operations, resolve technical issues, ensure consistent product quality, and align engineering activities with business objectives, including sustainability and environmental impact reduction.
· Prepare and manage the engineering and maintenance department budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
· Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures, quality deviations, and safety incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
· Oversee facility infrastructure, including utilities (e.g., HVAC, electrical, refrigeration), building maintenance, environmental systems (e.g., waste management, emissions control), and quality-critical systems (e.g., clean rooms, calibration programs).
· Provide technical guidance on process improvements, automation, new product introductions, and design for manufacturability, ensuring EHS and quality integration from the design phase.
· Maintain open communication with management regarding project status, challenges, and resource needs.
· Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training and encouragement. Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and reviews to ensure the other team members understand how their job duties support the company’s mission and have the correct tools/resources to do their jobs well. Ensure that team members follow company policy and create a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and by promptly and positively resolving violations and accidents.
· Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate manager in discussing matters of importance.
· Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
· Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location. Travel up to 25% of the time.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

· Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and capital expenditure planning.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement tools, reliability engineering, EHS management systems, and quality management systems (e.g., statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, 8D problem-solving, audit processes).
· Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
· Familiarity with CAD software, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), ERP systems, and quality software/tools (e.g., Minitab, quality tracking databases).
· Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting to senior management.
· Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
· Effectively use computers for the documentation, analysis, and communication of information.
· Utilize statistics to guide improvement efforts to successful conclusions.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer/Manager, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)) is a plus.
· Minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in plant engineering, maintenance, quality assurance, or manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Hands-on experience in EHS and quality management in manufacturing is highly desirable.

· The individual will be expected to work in a manufacturing plant environment, which may include being exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat. Typical noise level is loud.
