Georgia Energy Propane – Monticello, GA

Georgia Energy Propane is a locally owned and operated company committed to providing safe, reliable propane service to our community. We are seeking a dependable, motivated Propane Technician’s Assistant to join our team.

This is an entry-level, hands-on position designed for someone who wants to learn the propane industry and build practical skills in propane service, installation, and delivery operations. No previous propane experience is required, we are prepared to train the right candidate.

The Technician’s Assistant will primarily support our Propane Service Technician with residential and commercial service work, tank installations, gas lines, appliances, safety checks, and general field operations. This team member will also serve as a float when needed by assisting the propane delivery driver, giving them the opportunity to learn both the service and delivery sides of the propane industry.

What You’ll Do

Assist the Propane Service Technician with residential and commercial propane service, installations, inspections, and repairs
Help with propane tank sets, gas lines, regulators, appliances, and related equipment under the direction of the Service Technician
Assist with leak checks, safety inspections, equipment preparation, and job-site cleanup
Help keep service vehicles, delivery trucks, tools, equipment, and the tank yard stocked, organized, and ready for daily operations
Assist the propane delivery driver as needed, including helping with deliveries and field tasks
Learn and follow all company, DOT, and propane safety procedures
Accurately assist with service tickets, job documentation, and other required paperwork
Provide polite, professional, and helpful customer service while working in the field
Safely perform physical, hands-on work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Take direction well, ask questions, and steadily develop skills across both service and delivery operations

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license required
Reliable transportation to and from work required
No propane experience required; training will be provided. Previous experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical work, landscaping, delivery, or other hands-on work is a plus, but not required
Hard-working, dependable, and punctual
Quick learner with a strong willingness to be trained
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures
Comfortable working outdoors, performing physical tasks, and using basic tools and equipment
Polite, personable, and professional when interacting with customers
Willing to assist wherever needed and learn both the service and delivery sides of the business

Pay & Schedule

$12.00–$15.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Potential for a performance-based pay increase after six months
30–40 hours per week
Local work area — home daily

Work Environment
