Job Description
Compensation: This is a salaried leadership position with an anticipated range of $46,500–$52,000 annually, based on education, early childhood credentials, years of experience, administrative and leadership background, ministry alignment, demonstrated ability to grow and retain enrollment, staff development, financial stewardship, and ability to build meaningful partnerships in Attica and the surrounding community. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the posted range. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, center needs, enrollment capacity, and organizational sustainability.
Summary:
The Director is responsible for maintaining a ministry-centered, developmentally appropriate program of quality preschool and childcare in an environment that aligns with the mission of River City Church: “to create a community where waves of people are transformed by the love of God.”
Providing a safe, healthy, consistent, positive, caring environment for children in your care and staff members. Empowers and supports the staff by utilizing discipleship principles and team building techniques. Supports parents by establishing good rapport, positive methods of communication, and mutual care practices for children. Serves the staff, parents and the community with a passion for ministry and a love for Jesus. The Director is responsible and accountable for the total program and services of the center and reports to the Executive Director and President.
Essential Job Functions:
Character and Professionalism:
- Represent an active faith in Jesus Christ.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner of excellence while infusing the love of Christ into interactions with children, colleagues, families, and the local community.
- Belong to at least two Early Childhood professional development networks.
- Continue learning through professional and personal development including conferences, ongoing education, mentorships, and discipleship.
Leadership
- Partner with staff, pastors, and church members to share space, create a unified environment, and establish a common vision.
- Intentionally support the local community.
- Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Develop and cultivate a bridge to the center families to River City Church.
- Maintain self-motivation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, financial, and communication skills.
- Be involved in and/or lead a discipleship group and life group.
- Participate in strategic planning and development of the vision for the childcare ministry.
- Lead in sharing the vision of the ministry to the parents, staff and community.
Administration
- Comply with program components, policies, and guidelines to maintain compliance with Paths to Quality and Registered Ministry standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with state childcare licensing agency, Food Program, parents and community groups. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries in a timely manner.
- Review and evaluate staff performance.
- Develop and ensure all policy, procedures, and systems function systematically and efficiently. *
- Provide for upkeep of assigned program facilities, furniture and equipment and ensures the quality of the physical environment.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedules and direct personnel and volunteers as needed.
- Ensure child outcomes are met through curriculum, assessments, parent conferences, and other resources.
- Ensure teachers and staff are provided with training, professional development, and growth opportunities.
- Oversee the regular implementation of the curriculum and the incorporation of Biblical teaching and literacy components.
Communication
- Actively engage and be approachable with staff through group and individual prayer, coaching and training. This would include implementing and/or ensuring individual training plans for all employees.
- Build a network of partnerships with the local community and connect with them regarding community needs and common goals.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with families to foster communication of a child’s needs.
- Ensure parent and staff communication is effective and supportive.
- Ensure marketing and distribution of program information is effective and communicated in a professional manner.
Finance
- Participate in Financial Planning.
- Assist in forecasting for each year
- Maintain site budgets
- Set goals and ensure goals are accomplished
- Ensure Marketing Plan, Hiring Plan and Enrollment Plan are executed effectively.
- Ensure the program operates within budget and that program fees are collected.
- Oversite of payroll and billing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements | Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education with Early Childhood credit hours or related degree.
- Five years of experience in a preschool or early childhood center.
- One year of administrative experience.
- Two years of management, leadership.
- Preferred one year of ministry experience.
- An active member, in good standing of a church. Demonstrate a personal character that shows evidence of mature Christian spirituality and a willingness to advocate involvement at River City Church to the families of the center.
