Full Job Description

ABOUT US:

We are a growing organization dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our patients and provider partners. We specialize in durable medical equipment (DME) and orthopedic bracing and are committed to accurate, compliant, and timely based billing.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller (DME experience a plus) to join our team. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, knowledgeable about insurance requirements, and skilled in navigating payor rules for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans. This role is essential in ensuring clean claims, timely reimbursement, and excellent communication with patients and payers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare, review, and submit DME claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers, and third-party payers.
Verify coverage, authorization requirements, and billing guidelines for DME items.
Manage denials and appeals, including correcting claims and submitting additional documentation.
Communicate with payors to resolve issues, confirm policies, and clarify coverage.
Maintain accurate patient account records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific DME billing rules.
Collaborate with intake and fulfillment teams to ensure order completeness.
Maintain HIPPA compliance and uphold confidentiality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: 1-2 years of medical billing experience.
Strong working knowledge of HCPCS codes, modifiers and CMNs.
Experience with Medicare and Medicaid billing guidelines.
Proficiency in billing software and EMR systems (Nymbl, Epic, Waystar, etc.)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to manage mulitple tasks, deadlines, and priorities with accuracy.
High school diploma or equivalent (additonal certification preferred but not required)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with DME documentation requirements.
Knowledge of competitive bidding, prior authorization workflows, and appeal strategies.
