Responsibilities: The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach and is responsible for the following and other duties as assigned.
- Conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing players in rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
- Teaching fundamental and advanced skills
- Under the supervision of the Head Coach, organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises.
- Assists with coordination of any summer and/or off season programs
- Development of expectations and direction of the Boys Golf program with the Head Coach
- Tracking of eligibility and academic progress of students
- Preparation of athlete for competition
- Communication with parents, players, staff, media, etc.
- Following school district, school and CHSAA regulations and policies
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous golf coaching experience and/or knowledge of the fundemental and advanced skills of golf.
- CPR/First Aid Certified
- Be willing to be part of a team environment
Preferred:
- Knowledge of all aspects of the Moffat County School District athletic/activity programming
- Proven leadership qualities and successful experience in working with high school students
