Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Medical Aesthetician is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, non-invasive aesthetic treatments while delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position requires a licensed aesthetician who is passionate about skin health, committed to patient education, and dedicated to achieving optimal clinical outcomes under the supervision and protocols established by Oceanside Medical's medical providers. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, professional, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive skin assessments and recommend individualized treatment plans within scope of practice.
Perform non-ablative laser treatments in accordance with physician-approved protocols and applicable state regulations.
Perform Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation concerns, and vascular lesions as appropriate and in accordance with applicable state regulations
Perform professional microneedling treatments while adhering to established clinical protocols and in accordance with applicable state regulations
Perform customized medical-grade facials designed to improve skin health and complement medical aesthetic treatments.
Educate patients on treatment expectations, risks, benefits, pre-treatment preparation, and post-treatment care.
Recommend and educate patients regarding physician-approved medical-grade skincare products.
Accurately document patient consultations, informed consent, treatment details, photographs, and follow-up instructions in the electronic medical record.
Monitor patient progress and communicate concerns or treatment recommendations with the supervising providers.
Maintain treatment rooms, laser equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection prevention standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Ensure all laser safety protocols are followed, including appropriate eye protection, equipment calibration, and treatment documentation.
Maintain current knowledge of aesthetic technologies, skincare products, and industry best practices through continuing education.
Participate in patient consultations, promotional events, educational seminars, and community outreach as requested.
Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments to encourage treatment compliance and continuity of care.
Support the overall success of the practice by delivering exceptional customer service and fostering long-term patient relationships.
Perform other duties as assigned that support clinical operations and patient care.

Qualifications

Must have 2-5years of previous experience as an Aesthetician
Current state licensure as an Aesthetician or Master Aesthetician (as required by state law).
Certification and demonstrated competency in laser safety and non-ablative laser procedures.
Experience performing IPL, microneedling, and medical facials in a medical spa or physician practice preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and administrative staff.
Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough understanding of skin physiology and common dermatologic conditions.
Knowledge of contraindications for laser and aesthetic procedures.
Ability to educate patients in a compassionate and professional manner.
Strong sales aptitude with an emphasis on ethical patient recommendations.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment while maintaining excellent patient satisfaction.
Commitment to maintaining a polished, professional appearance that reflects the standards of the practice.
