Machinist

We are seeking a talented Machinist to bolster our production and maintenance efforts during the first shift. This role is vital to our manufacturing success, as you will be responsible for fabricating high-precision repair components, essential spare parts, and various consumables. Operating both CNC and conventional machinery, you will contribute to a culture that prioritizes safety and collaboration. If you are a hands-on problem solver who values precision, this position offers a great environment to advance your professional journey.

Core Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary resource for production and maintenance departments regarding machining requirements
Fabricate necessary spare and repair components to ensure equipment remains operational
Create vital consumable items to support ongoing daily manufacturing workflows
Operate CNC and conventional machinery with a focus on safety and efficiency
Uphold a tidy and professional work area to foster a high-quality environment
Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly following all safety protocols
Partner with various departments to execute special projects and drive process improvements

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience within an industrial or machine shop setting
Physical ability to work at varying heights and across different equipment levels
Capacity to remain standing for long durations while managing machinery
Deep knowledge of safety regulations and operational work instructions
Proficiency in interpreting and executing tasks based on technical blueprints and drawings
Demonstrate exceptional precision and analytical skills to resolve complex mechanical issues
Expertise in applying ASME Y14.5 standards and ISO tolerancing systems
Competency in reading, writing, and interpreting G/M code
Willingness to participate in a Mechanical/Machinist Aptitude assessment
Openness to pursuing further collegiate-level education if the role demands it

Preferred Skills:

Advanced skill in using precision measurement instruments like micrometers, dial calipers, and inspection tools
Strong capability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical challenges
Understanding of diverse systems including pneumatic, hydraulic, boiler, piping, and steam
Background in executing routine preventive maintenance tasks
Ability to thrive in a high-speed manufacturing atmosphere
Excellent interpersonal communication and a collaborative team attitude
Comprehensive understanding of various mechanical systems and equipment
Experience implementing 5S or similar workplace organization methodologies
Familiarity with standard Operator Maintenance practices like cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting

Technical Proficiencies:

CNC Tooling expertise
G-Code programming
M-Code programming
Execution of CNC machine setup and changeover procedures
