Gulf Coast Treatment Center (gulfcoasttc.com) is a psychiatric residential treatment program for adolescent females, ages 12-18 old. Since 1996, we have been dedicated to providing quality mental health treatment to teenagers with chronic mental health needs nationwide. Gulf Coast Treatment Center provides comprehensive mental healthcare and education services for at risk female adolescents, families and our community.
We are currently seeking full-time Mental Health Technicians (MHT). Staff will work three days during the week, Monday through Friday: 7a-3p, 3p – 11p, or 11p-7a and every other weekend: 9am-9pm or 9pm-9am.
The MHT functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing direct care to patients in a manner that promotes safety and comfort in a therapeutic environment, while providing positive mentorship to adolescent girls ranging ages 12 through 18.
Applicants for this position must have an unwavering commitment to the safety of adolescents. We are looking for applicants that have the desire to build trusting and supportive therapeutic connections with all of our patients, as well as a commitment to being aware of ongoing developments and concerns of the children in care. We seek individuals who have a strong work ethic with a desire to positively impact the lives of our patients. It is essential for applicants to possess a high tolerance level for dealing with emotionally fragile individuals and stressful environments.
MHTs provide supervision in a treatment or educational milieu; assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment and/or educational effectiveness and is able to intervene effectively in crisis situations. Starting pay for this position is $16. 25 to $19 per hour with an extra $3 for 2nd shift and $4 per hour for 3rd shift differential paid for those shifts. There is no shift differential for 1st shift.
We encourage candidates with college credits or degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Education as well as prior relatable work experience to consider applying for this position. We will consider any other candidate who demonstrates the necessary skills and traits to work with this population. We do offer paid training consisting of educational curriculum, certifications, and job shadowing. Minimal requirements:
