Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional support to our dentists and ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience from check-in to treatment completion. Your expertise in clinical procedures, patient management, and dental technology will help us deliver top-quality care in a welcoming environment. Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care during appointments.
Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following strict infection control standards to maintain a sterile clinical environment.
Support front desk operations by managing patient scheduling, verifying insurance information, and assisting with general dentistry inquiries as a dental receptionist.
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
Assist with the operation of dental equipment including chairside assisting tools, intraoral cameras, and digital imaging devices such as 3D scanners.
Follow all healthcare infection prevention protocols while supporting four-handed dentistry practices for efficiency and safety.

Skills

Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment with expertise in general dentistry procedures.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient information at all times.
Skilled in taking high-quality dental X-rays, including intraoral images and 3D scans using specialized imaging equipment.
Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical setting.
Ability to assist with complex procedures like oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with confidence in chairside assisting techniques.
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
Excellent patient management skills to provide compassionate care while supporting patient education on treatment plans.
Experience operating dental equipment such as ultrasonic scalers, curing lights, digital radiography systems, and other clinical tools.
Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, medical imaging documentation, and maintaining clinical supplies efficiently.
