The Role
byTomCat Custom Apparel is a Fort Walton Beach custom-apparel shop and the home of Red7Tees, our print-on-demand and B2B printing brand. We're hiring a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to own the flow of goods in and out of the shop: receiving incoming blanks and materials, keeping inventory accurate, and getting finished orders packed, labeled, and out the door on time.
This is a hands-on, detail-first role. If you like keeping things organized, moving product, and being the person who makes sure nothing gets lost or shipped late, you'll do well here.
This role has direct customer and walk-in contact, so a professional, presentable appearance consistent with a customer-facing role is expected. Specific dress and grooming standards are provided at hire and applied consistently across the team.
Location: On-site at our Fort Walton Beach location. (This is not a remote position.)
Schedule & Pay
- Hours: Monday-Friday, full-time (32+ hours/week)
- Type: Hourly, non-exempt
- Pay: $15-19/hour, depending on experience
What You'll Do (primary)
- Receive incoming shipments: take in blanks, garments, and supplies; check deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders; flag shortages, damage, and mismatches
- Keep inventory accurate: log what comes in and goes out, keep stock organized and findable, and run counts so the shop always knows what's on hand
- Ship finished orders: pack, label, and stage completed jobs; create shipping labels through ShipStation and the carrier portals (UPS, FedEx, USPS); pick the right service to hit the promised date
- Keep orders moving: match outgoing shipments to orders in DecoNet, confirm the right items and quantities go out, and keep records so nothing slips
- Own the ship/receive area: keep the receiving and shipping space clean, orderly, and running so product never piles up or goes missing
What You'll Do (additional, as capacity allows)
- Help on the production floor as needed: DTF and sublimation pressing, embroidery, and related finishing
- Pitch in wherever a small, busy shop needs hands
The primary role is shipping, receiving, and inventory. Production-floor support fills the gaps when the ship/receive queue is clear.
What We're Looking For
- Organized and detail-oriented; receiving, counts, and shipments have to be right
- Reliable and punctual, with the physical stamina to move and lift product through the day
- Comfortable on a computer: shipping software, order systems, basic spreadsheets, email
- Able to juggle receiving, inventory, and outbound shipping without dropping things
- Calm and steady under pressure, especially when a shipment has to go out on a deadline
Nice to Have
- Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory in a production or job-shop environment
- Familiarity with ShipStation or carrier shipping portals (UPS, FedEx, USPS)
- Familiarity with quoting/order systems (e.g. DecoNet) or a CRM
- Experience in custom apparel, screen printing, DTG/DTF, embroidery, or print-on-demand
Why byTomCat / Red7Tees
