Full Job Description

Ventek Solutions (Ventek) is a leading manufacturer specializing in engineered shape molded foam components, protective packaging, and multi-material assembly solutions. The organization helps customers address complex challenges in product protection, component light-weighting, insulation, and design simplification. Ventek’s services span a variety of industries, including construction, automotive, electronics, medical, and more. Ventek Solutions leverages creative design, thoughtful engineering, and meticulous program management to deliver customized solutions. Ventek operates 9 plants in the US and Mexico with corporate headquarters in Charleston, SC.

In 2024, Black Diamond Capital Management acquired the Protective Solutions segment of Sonoco Products Company, rebranding the business as Ventek Solutions LLC. This acquisition encompassed the existing manufacturing footprint along with the embedded design engineering, program management, and commercial resources. As Ventek Solutions, we are dedicated to maintaining our advanced capabilities in creative design, thoughtful engineering, meticulous program management, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a HR Generalist to join our team in our Shelbyville, KY manufacturing plant.

Summary: The HR Generalist is an essential partner to our Shelbyville, KY Operations team and will provide comprehensive HR and Safety program support to plant management. The role is onsite five days a week. The role will primarily support the Shelbyville plant, but will also lead and provide support with Ventek HR-related projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Provides HR support to the operations teams, including administering company policies, procedures and programs.
Leads and supports employee engagement and culture activities
Responsible for leading plant safety initiatives and processes to include lock out/tag out, MHE, safe work practices, safety incident reporting and investigation.
Responsible for ensuring accurate timekeeping and payroll details for timely payroll processing.
Actively monitors the local market to understand wage practices and employment trends.

Works with Managers and corporate Talent Acquisition to determine staffing needs and develop job descriptions. Facilitates hiring process for the plant, including manage job postings, recruiting, interviewing and selecting talent.

Conducts employee onboarding, training and assists management with monitoring performance according to Ventek standards.

Maintains employment related documentation
Act as point of contact for benefit programs, including open enrollment communication, benefits enrollment, general plan questions and resolving benefit issues.

Partners with leadership on coaching, development, employee relations matters and investigations as needed.

Manages leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA and Worker’s Compensation matters.

Maintains working knowledge of existing and new Federal, State and Local laws and regulations affecting the workforce. Makes recommendations as needed to update policies and procedures.

Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of three years’ experience working in one or more functional areas of Human Resources or a related area, with at least two years’ experience with Employee Relations, Policy and Procedure administration, safety, compliance, and/or related HR Generalist experience is preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Operationally proficient with Microsoft office suite and applicant tracking systems.
Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing skills preferred.
Must be an effective communicator and builds relationships across functions.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
