Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Secretary to join our dynamic team. This vital role combines essential bookkeeping responsibilities with administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of financial and clerical functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience with various financial software. Your energetic approach will help maintain accurate financial records, support budgeting processes, and facilitate effective communication across departments. Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as Epicor
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
Prepare financial reports, statements, and summaries in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational standards.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of payroll, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements.
Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting in financial planning efforts.
Provide administrative support such as managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and preparing documentation for meetings or audits.
Assist with technical accounting tasks related to governmental or nonprofit accounting standards when applicable.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Experience

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within public accounting or nonprofit organizations.
Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
Familiarity with GAAP standards and governmental or nonprofit accounting practices is highly desirable.
Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing.
Knowledge of tax preparation processes and related compliance requirements is a plus.
Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately along with excellent attention to detail for account analysis and financial report writing.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
