Polk County Public Health has an opening for a full-time Clerk Typist Cashier III. This position will be based at the East Grand Forks Human Service Center. The Clerk Typist Cashier III performs various support staff activities to assist the department in administering programs and services. Applicants must have a high school or equivalent (GED) and 2 years’ related experience in office/clerical procedures. A valid driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required. The starting wage range for this position is $21.46 - $27.19 per hour, DOE, and qualifications. Position closes August 5, 2026.

- Performs various support staff duties, including typing and editing correspondence, answering/receiving and directing incoming calls, emails, mail and fax, conducting reminder calls/texts, greeting visitors and responding to inquiries (ex. scheduling appointments and community referrals).

Performs client intake process by greeting client, gathering information, ensuring accuracy of client demographics and verification of insurance eligibility data and program data for entry into various information systems, entering and retrieving data into electronic health record (Phdoc)/program specific databases includes the handling of confidential medical information. If WIC, collects health information such as height and weight measurement, and enters collected results/data.

Assists the staff with program related requirements:
- Receive and process various client referrals.

Provides client related functions (client chart prep, service contracts, audit prep, etc.), and computer support within Phdoc or related softwares.

Distribute news releases/monitor social media activity as requested by staff.
- Ensures the overall function of the office by maintaining the agency phone system; providing technical support to staff; assisting users in the operation of computer systems and applications; and coordinating maintenance of office equipment.

Enters, reconciles, and tracks various immunization data.

Acknowledge/distributes time sensitive Health Alter/Health Advisory notifications to community and healthcare partners as directed. Updates staff address/phone lists and emergency calling tree lists as needed.

Provides departmental administrative support to all program areas such as conference/training registrations and applicable accommodations for staff.

Ability to learn new office technologies, as they are developed and implemented.

Attends relevant meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Takes minutes at meetings as needed.

Participates in content specific internal and external committees that apply to the position.

Complies with all rules and policies in order to maintain a safe work environment.

40 hours per week Monday – Friday, flexible scheduling.
