Perform quality assurance testing on raw materials, finished products, production samples, packaging event samples, and field samples in a precise and accurate manner.
-
Perform analytical testing utilizing sound laboratory practices and established quality procedures.
-
Input material batch test results into SAP and interface with the Sugar Land Quality team regarding Master Inspection Characteristics (MICs), shelf life, and Quality Module requirements.

Maintain inventory of laboratory reagents, supplies, and analytical equipment.
-
Prepare laboratory standard reagents, perform reagent standardizations, calibrate laboratory equipment, and maintain detailed records and control charts.
-
Oversee or perform maintenance of laboratory analytical equipment and support the purchase, installation, and implementation of new equipment while meeting ISO management system requirements.

Coordinate with Production to obtain samples of raw materials, returned materials, restricted batches, and Quality Inspection batches for testing and analysis.

Accurately record, document, and maintain laboratory test data using Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Communicate laboratory results to Production and Material Control while calculating and recommending batch adjustments when required.

Maintain records of problem batches and corrective actions taken.
-
Package and ship samples to customers and other ChampionX/SLB facilities.
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment while ensuring efficient laboratory operations.
-
Ensure product formulas, specifications, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) remain current.
-
Serve as the site lead for ISO 9001 audits and support ECAP and other quality audits.
-
Perform routine calibration of laboratory equipment while continuously improving knowledge of chemistry, analytical techniques, and equipment maintenance.

Manage the retain sample database and oversee rework of retained samples.

Coordinate laboratory coverage during vacations and absences.
-
Support the guiding principles of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 by promoting continuous improvement in quality, safety, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance.

Support ChampionX's Quality Improvement Process by promoting a "Do It Right the First Time" culture.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Located at the Scott, Louisiana manufacturing facility.

Full-time position supporting manufacturing and quality operations.

Primarily laboratory-based with regular interaction with production operations.
-
Must be able to safely work in a manufacturing environment while following all plant safety procedures.
-
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Analytical Science, or another science-related discipline, or a minimum of two years of equivalent laboratory experience.

Background in scientific disciplines such as laboratory analysis, quality assurance, quality control, analytical chemistry, or related fields.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to accurately document laboratory results and maintain detailed records.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
-
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
-
Experience using SAP Quality Management (QM).
-
Experience supporting chemical manufacturing or industrial laboratory operations.
-
Experience working within ISO 9001 quality systems.
-
Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, calibration, and analytical testing methods.
-
Experience supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
-
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
-
Ability to safely work within a manufacturing and laboratory environment.
-
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull laboratory materials and equipment as required.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
