Full Job Description

The Concierge/Guest Service Associate at the River House at Odette’s works with the Guest Services Manager to provide exceptional guest service. They support the Front Desk staff and other departments by assisting guest requests. They are responsible for providing guidance as well as making recommendations and maintaining off-property reservations for restaurants, activities, and recreations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Maintain positive relationships with business owners within the community at large.

· Being a part of Concierge team ensuring the best service, knowledge and assistance to guests.

· Maintain detailed notes of area happenings such as festivals, theater showings, restaurant and bar specials, sporting events, and other cultural events on hand to give meaningful recommendations and accommodations for the hotel guests.

· Stay up to date on all hotel, restaurant, and bar menus and offering in order to make meaningful recommendations and reservations for the hotel guests.

· Assures with all hotel guest amenities are filled in a timely manner.

· Maintain off-property reservations for hotel guests.

· Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.

· Assist guests with mail, messages, and all inquiries.

· Adhere to property specific duties and responsibilities.

· Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Technical Skills: We require* at least 1 year* of experience and knowledge of all local vendor, restaurant, and shop information such as services, food and drink offerings, contact information, locations and individual policies. Maintaining and up-keeping accurate guest reservations in all vendor reservation systems. Required to have a knowledge of all hotel rooms and packages. We require advanced experience with creating guest itineraries and sending guest confirmations. Memberships to Professional Concierge Associations and Chamber of Commerce is preferred.

· Customer Service and Professionalism: Proven experienceserving as a role model and setting the standard for all staff to maintain high-quality and consistent customer service.

· Problem Solving, Quality Control, and Priority Assessment: Must evaluate current practices and processes; immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and suggest ways to improve current business methods and services provided.

· Communication: Commitment to details both verbally and non-verbally and ability to encourage cooperative and consistent levels of communication with the kitchen staff, front-end staff and management. Must understand instructions, read written company information and communicate with little or no additional direction.

· Interpersonal Relationships: Ability to adapt to different personalities of guests, staff and outside vendors without losing focus. Must possess high professional ethics and avoid extreme familiarity or conflicts with others.

· Conflict Management: Capacity to recognize problems when they arise and be able to resolve them appropriately by using good judgement, tact, and initiative according to company policy and procedure. Requires unbiased communication skills to handle all types of conflicts that will occur at all levels of supervision and the ability to negotiate effectively.

· Perform General Physical Activities: Ability to perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate to maximum strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, handling materials.

· Flexibility: Must be available to work overtime when needed, assist with the workload of others, and perform other duties as assigned.
