If you're a Harper College nursing student, CNA student, or pursuing another healthcare-related program, this is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning income around your school schedule.
At Amada Senior Care Barrington, we work with caregivers who have school, family, and other commitments.
You do not need completely open availability.
What we do need is consistent blocks of time that we can rely on each week.
For example:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings
- Tuesday and Thursday mornings
- Consistent weekend availability
- Overnight availability
- Specific recurring blocks between classes or clinicals
If you tell us when you're consistently available, our team can work to match you with clients and shifts that fit those hours.
What You’ll Do
As a caregiver, you'll work one-on-one with older adults in their homes throughout the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Helping with walking, transfers, repositioning, and mobility
- Providing companionship and safety supervision
- Preparing meals
- Providing medication reminders
- Completing light housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, and changing linens
- Assisting with errands or transportation when needed
- Helping clients safely complete activities of daily living
Who We’re Looking For
This position is a great fit for someone who is:
- Currently enrolled in nursing school
- Attending Harper College's nursing or CNA program
- Completing nursing prerequisites
- Pursuing a healthcare-related degree
- Looking for more direct hands-on caregiving experience
- An experienced caregiver who needs a flexible schedule
Experience
3+ years of caregiving experience is preferred.
Experience may include:
- Home care
- Assisted living
- Memory care
- Skilled nursing
- Rehabilitation
- Hospital settings
- Private caregiving
Nursing and CNA students with strong hands-on caregiving experience are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Communicate clearly in English
- Be dependable and able to commit to scheduled shifts
- Have consistent blocks of weekly availability
- Be comfortable using a mobile device for documentation
- Have a valid driver's license
- Have access to a reliable personal vehicle
- Maintain current auto insurance
- Have a clean driving record
- Demonstrate compassion, patience, reliability, and professionalism
CareAcademy training completion is a plus.
