We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and safety-focused Lifeguard to supervise students during swimming field trips and water-based educational activities.
Position Summary
The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe swimming environment, preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and ensuring all participants follow established water safety rules. This role works alongside teachers and staff to provide a fun, safe, and engaging experience for students.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor students during swimming activities at springs, pools, and other approved aquatic locations.
- Enforce water safety rules and emergency procedures.
- Maintain constant visual surveillance of swimmers.
- Recognize and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Perform water rescues and administer First Aid, CPR, or AED as needed.
- Conduct safety briefings before students enter the water.
- Inspect designated swim areas for potential hazards.
- Assist staff with swimmer check-in/check-out procedures and head counts.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, families, and administrators.
- Complete incident reports when necessary.
- Help ensure students remain within designated swim boundaries.
- Encourage safe and respectful behavior while promoting confidence in the water.
Qualifications required:
- Current Lifeguard Certification
- Current CPR/AED Certification
- Current First Aid Certification
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Strong swimming ability and physical stamina
- Reliable transportation to field trip locations
- Excellent communication and observation skills
Preferred
- Experience working with children ages 5–17
- Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, sensory differences, or other exceptionalities
- Previous experience at springs, lakes, camps, or outdoor education programs
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Swim and perform rescues in various aquatic environments.
- Remain outdoors for extended periods in Florida weather.
- Lift or assist individuals during emergency situations.
- Walk, stand, bend, and actively supervise students throughout field trips.
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Flexible scheduling
- Primarily weekdays during school hours

Pay
