Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk Vision Technician Receptionist to join our optometric practice. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing patient intake, appointment scheduling, and administrative tasks. Your expertise in ophthalmic terminology, medical records management, and patient care will ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for every individual who walks through our doors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical knowledge with outstanding patient service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verifying their appointment details and updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
Collect and document patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation levels following proper aseptic techniques.
Assist with optometric patient examinations by preparing necessary pretesting equipment like tonometers, and ophthalmic diagnostic imaging tools.
Conduct initial patient intake by gathering medical history, current medications, and relevant health information while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Operate pretesting equipment safely and effectively during autorefraction tests, tonometry and other diagnostic procedures.
Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health records (EHR) systems while coordinating with physicians and staff to optimize clinic flow.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, ensuring compliance with all privacy regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
Support the clinical team by assisting with optometric specific tasks.
Handle administrative duties including answering phones, managing medical records.

Qualifications

Prior experience in a medical office setting, preferably within ophthalmology or optometry practices.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and anatomy.
Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as tonometers and OCT Scans
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records accurately and efficiently.
Experience with patient service roles that involve direct patient care and intake procedures.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
Ability to operate medical equipment safely following aseptic techniques and clinical protocols.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor to provide outstanding patient care and support team collaboration.
