We are seeking passionate, driven, and growth-minded professionals to join our team as a Career Track Behavior Interventionist Developer (Career Track BID). This unique role is designed for individuals who are ready to move beyond direct service and begin developing the clinical, leadership, and supervisory skills needed to become a future Behavior Interventionist Developer (BID).

Through hands-on mentorship, real-world experience, and individualized leadership development, you'll work alongside experienced BIDs, support behavioral programming for students with diverse needs, and gain the knowledge and confidence necessary to advance into a supervisory role.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Program Manager, School-Based Services, Assigned BID Mentor, and/or any other FACT Director, the Career Track BID is a developmental leadership role designed to prepare high-potential staff to transition into a full BID position.

The Career Track BID will maintain a reduced caseload while receiving hands-on training, mentorship, and supervision from an assigned BID. This role supports succession planning by developing competency in behavioral supervision, staff support, intervention development, documentation oversight, and program leadership.

The Career Track BID will assist with the implementation of behavioral intervention services, staff coaching, training support, data review, and collaboration with school teams while progressively building the skills necessary to manage a full BID caseload independently.

Developmental Responsibilities

The Career Track BID will:

Learn and support program-wide expectations for students and BII staff.
Promote positive behavioral supports and reinforcement strategies.
Model professionalism, self-regulation, and client-focused services.
Participate in observation, documentation review, and data collection oversight.
Develop competency in Welligent, Ankota, and FACT documentation systems.
Shadow and train under an assigned BID mentor.
Participate in leadership development and ongoing coaching sessions.
Progressively assume additional responsibilities as competency is demonstrated.

Program and Client Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the assigned BID mentor, the Career Track BID will:

Assist in the implementation and monitoring of behavior intervention plans.
Support BII staff with intervention implementation and daily guidance.
Maintain a smaller assigned caseload than a full BID.
Assist with behavioral observations and data collection.
Support development of interventions and replacement behavior strategies.
Participate in treatment planning discussions and team collaboration.
Assist with monitoring compliance with documentation and program requirements.
Help ensure completion of required notes, logs, and behavioral data tracking.
Support communication between families, schools, and service providers.
Escalate concerns to the assigned BID mentor and/or Program Manager promptly.

Active Team Membership

Attend IEP, PLC, and school team meetings alongside the supervising BID.
Contribute behavioral observations and relevant data to teams.
Collaborate with classroom staff, administrators, and caregivers.
Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders.
Participate in department meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.

Training and Professional Development

The Career Track BID will receive structured mentorship and training in:

Positive behavior support plans
Behavioral intervention strategies
Informal behavioral assessments
Data collection and analysis
Staff supervision techniques
Crisis response and de-escalation
Documentation systems and compliance
Training and coaching methods
Leadership and professional communication

The Career Track BID may also:

Assist with onboarding and coaching new BII staff.
Model behavioral strategies for BII staff.
Support implementation of new intervention techniques.
Participate in leadership development activities assigned by management.

Supervision Responsibilities

Under the oversight of the assigned BID mentor, the Career Track BID may:

Conduct limited supervision check-ins with assigned BII staff.
Assist with reviewing documentation and behavioral data.
Support monitoring of service implementation fidelity.
Help verify completion of required documentation and compliance training.
Participate in staff coaching conversations.
Assist with maintaining coaching logs and support documentation.
Approve and track BII requested time off, time cards, and schedules utilizing MITC

The Career Track BID will not independently carry full supervisory responsibilities until promoted into a BID role.

Staff Professional Development

Demonstrate willingness to learn leadership and supervisory skills.
Accept coaching and feedback constructively.
Participate in ongoing mentorship and competency evaluations.
Demonstrate readiness for progressive independence in BID responsibilities.
Support a collaborative and positive team environment.

Task/Competency Expectations

Understanding of FACT’s mission, purpose, and philosophy.
Maintain professional boundaries with staff, clients, schools, and families.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
Submit time-sensitive documentation by required deadlines.
Demonstrate growth toward independent BID competency.

Data Collection and Documentation

Career Track BIDs are responsible for assisting with oversight of behavioral data collection, service documentation, and data binder maintenance under the supervision of the assigned BID mentor.

The Career Track BID will maintain accurate documentation in the required systems and complete reports in compliance with funding-source expectations.

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge and Specialized Skills

Job Requirements/Evaluation Factors:

Bachelor’s degree required in a related field; Master’s degree required.
Enrollment in or pursuit of advanced certification/licensure preferred (BCBA, BCaBA, MFTi, ACSW, MSW, etc.).
Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
Minimum of 2+ years working as a BII, Behavior Therapist, Social Worker, or related role.
Experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to learn leadership and supervisory practices.
Understanding of positive behavior supports and behavioral interventions.
Basic understanding of special education laws and school-based services.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency with documentation systems and data collection practices.

REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a Live Scan DOJ Fingerprint background check.
Satisfactory TB Screening.
Completion of AB 1172, Mandated Reporter, and CPI Training (sponsored by FACT)
Willingness to travel to schools, districts, and FACT office locations.
Reliable transportation, a valid California driver’s license, and proof of insurance are required.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, taste, or smell., sometimes run, carry and lift up to twenty-five pounds. Must be comfortable exercising reinforcement tactics with students of all ages (K-12)

CAREER DEVELOPMENT PURPOSE

This position is intended as a developmental pathway into the full BID role. Progression will be based on demonstrated competency, leadership readiness, performance evaluations, successful mentorship participation, and organizational need.
