Agricultural Equipment Mechanic
A food manufacturing operation is hiring an Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to keep harvest equipment running during peak season and perform preventive maintenance, repair, and rebuild work during the off-season. This role is hands-on with agricultural equipment, harvest support, mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, diesel equipment, and field/shop repairs.
The best fit is a reliable mechanic with farm equipment, heavy equipment, diesel, construction equipment, or industrial maintenance experience who understands long harvest-season hours and can work safely in a fast-moving agricultural production environment.
Location: Cumberland, WI
Schedule: During pack season, early July through late September (3.5 months) , 6-7 days per week when needed, 12-14 hours per day, day shift or night shift. Days off may be scheduled during harvest gaps and when staffing allows. Off pack, late September through early July (8.5 months), Monday through Thursday, 5:30 AM-4:00 PM.
Work Setting: Onsite- Pack season is 60+ hours a week and Off Pack is 40 hours a week
Role Type: Direct hire
Pay Rate: $30-$34/hr, based on experience

Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural and harvest equipment.
- Support harvest operations by keeping product flow steady and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and upgrades on harvest equipment and related equipment.
- Overhaul and rebuild equipment during the non-processing season to prepare for the next harvest.
- Assist with maintenance in other areas of the facility as needed.
- Work with supervisors and operators to support production, quality, and safe equipment operation.
- Help ensure GMP, safety rules, and company procedures are followed.
- Support seasonal employees during harvest operations when needed.
- Maintain reliability and urgency during peak harvest season.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of related mechanical experience.
- Experience maintaining agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, diesel equipment, construction equipment, fleet vehicles, or industrial machinery.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CDL is helpful but not required.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools; must have own hand tools.
- Mechanical troubleshooting ability across hydraulic, electrical, and diesel-powered systems.
- Ability to work extended hours during harvest season.
- Strong reliability, dependability, and safety awareness.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Farm, harvest, field service, heavy equipment, or food manufacturing maintenance background.
- Experience with tractors, harvesters, combines, loaders, conveyors, motors, bearings, drives, pumps, or hydraulic systems.
- Comfort working both in a shop and in field conditions.
