Full Job Description

This position is a part time position BUT MAY BE EXPANDED TO FULL-TIME IF THE NEED ARISES. THE HOURS ARE SOMEWHAT FLEXIBLE, AND the pay is based on experience. SUBSTANCE ABUSE EXPERIENCE IS A MUST.

JOB SUMMARY: The Outpatient Therapist provides quality care and professional treatment, counseling and skills training to male and female clients in an outpatient substance abuse treatment setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Using evidence-based practices, counsels clients individually and in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.

2. Complete and maintain accurate records and reports regarding the clients' histories and progress, services provided, and other required information.

3. Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health and other health professionals such as doctors and social workers.

4. Create and modify treatment plans, based on assessment and client histories, to comply with changes in client status. Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment plans.

5. Assess clients' degree of drug dependency by collecting and analyzing urine drug screen results.

6. Attend training sessions to increase knowledge and skills.
