Chef

We are looking for an ambitious Chef to join our kitchen family to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as preparing products, cutting meats, chicken etc, portioning vegetables and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great Chef will be quick, diligent and with a good positive attitude on the job. You will be available to step in and manage and produce in all stations in the kitchen and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen.

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday from 10:00am-6:00pm

Physical Demands, Responsibilities and other Requirements.

Regularly required to stand for 8 or more hours.
Regularly required to use hands.
Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Regularly required to bend down to floor level or reach above eye level
Must wear slip-resistant, oil-resistant shoes while working at all time.
Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
Label and stock all ingredients and products on coolers, freezers and shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Measure ingredients, seasonings and all products to be used in cooking
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Execute basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
Prepare dishes and entrees as guided and instructed to.
Must be able to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, moping, sweeping, taking out trash etc.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Skills

Proven experience as a CHEF
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
Manually able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
A team player with good communication skills
Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
Uses time efficiently and completes work in a timely manner
Demonstrates attention to detail
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
Demonstrates the ability to work independently
High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset.
