Full Job Description

We are looking for a California licensed or registered intern associate therapist add to our clinical team for our residential facility located in Laguna Beach! Join the New Leaf Detox and Treatment programs team of all stars, changing lives for the better.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our Program provides quality SUD and MH Treatment services without discrimination as to culture, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, spiritual belief, socioeconomic status, political affiliation, and physical or mental ability. All aspects of our program aim to address the specific strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences of the individuals, families, and communities we serve. Our mission is to provide a safe, comfortable, alcohol and drug-free environment for detoxification and provide chemical dependency recovery services to assist clients in obtaining long-term sobriety.

SUMMARY

The Lead Therapist is responsible for providing addiction and mental health treatment to patients in any levels of care setting, including Partial Hospital Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and outpatient program. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Therapist will perform direct services within their scope of practice, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy, assessments, consultations, and crisis interventions. The Therapist will provide adequate documentation for all services, participate in treatment planning, problem-solving, de-escalation, and group facilitation when needed. All services provided will be on-site or telehealth and within the skill set of the respective individual’s license.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Keeping abreast of current literature and developments in the field, and attending required agency training.
Appropriately documents clinical service provided.
Ensures to use the utmost care in protecting the confidentiality of client records by State and Federal laws
Collaborates with medical, nursing, and counseling staff regarding clients
Provide Professional and ethical therapy to chemically dependent patients in treatment through group, individual counseling, family counseling, and education.
Documenting casework promptly in compliance with agency policies and procedures, including writing objective case notes, progress, and discharge reports, and other timely status reports as requested by the supervisor and according to California & Joint Commission standards.
Presents changes, improvements, or additions to protocols or behavioral health services to the team.
Understands and adheres to The Company’s compliance standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and Company regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
Conduct clinical evaluation, psychological and/or psychosocial assessment, client diagnosis and interpretive summary. Prepare person-centered treatment
plans, case management, consultation, education, and referral as needed.
Conduct client risk and safety evaluations and assessments.
Leading primary clinical care manager for individuals identified with co-occurring disorders.
Provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to individuals, groups and families as needed.
Facilitate individual psychotherapy sessions, group therapy, and Family Counseling.
Assisting with on-site staff direction and training when advised by supervisor
New hire training and guidance while in compliance with state and company standards
Provision of monthly training for clinical team members
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education, Training, and Experience Required:

Master’s degree or higher in mental health. Possess Licensure from the Board of Behavioral Sciences or intern under supervision from Clinical Director.
Acceptable licenses are: LMFT, LPCC, and LCSW, MSW. Provisional licenses are acceptable for up to three (3) years as long as the provisional license is current. Must maintain a professional license and stay current (not revoked, suspended, or lapsed in registration), valid and unrestricted.
Two years experience working in the field of addiction and/or mental health.
Continued education in Substance Use Disorders and 6 months experience working in substance abuse treatment programs.
Possess valid CPR/AED/FA certification
Possess current T.B. clearance and annual TB clearance
Current Health Screening

In person position, full time, exempt

This is for a New Luxury 6 bed Residential Detox facility in Laguna Beach. Training will be held at a Dana Point location for the first month. Please be prepared to communte during the first 60 days to Dana Point, California.
