Full Job Description

Job Overview

Burns Landscaping is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and personable Office Administrator to join our team at our Cypress office. This position plays an important role in keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly and providing exceptional service to our customers.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is comfortable answering phones and emails, coordinating schedules, preparing and sending customer proposals, and managing multiple priorities throughout the day.

We're looking for someone who takes initiative, stays on top of details, and can work independently without needing constant direction. The right person will be comfortable switching between customer calls, emails, scheduling, proposals, and other office responsibilities throughout the day.

We are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term part of our team, with the opportunity to grow into additional responsibilities and potentially a full-time position in the future.

Burns Landscaping is a family-owned and operated Houston landscaping company proudly serving the community since 1998. We take pride in providing quality work and exceptional customer service, and we're looking for someone who will bring that same level of care, organization, and professionalism to our office.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming phone calls and communicate professionally with current and prospective customers
Monitor and respond to customer emails
Schedule appointments and coordinate calendars
Prepare and send proposals to customers
Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, proposals, and project updates
Perform data entry and maintain accurate customer and office records
Organize electronic and physical files and documents
Assist with invoicing, billing, and other administrative tasks as needed
Coordinate with team members regarding customer needs, schedules, and ongoing projects
Assist with general day-to-day office operations
Provide friendly, professional, and responsive customer service
Manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Take initiative in identifying and completing tasks that need attention
Assist with additional administrative responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required
Previous experience in office administration, customer service, or a similar professional role preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be comfortable speaking with customers over the phone and providing friendly, professional customer service
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity software
QuickBooks experience is a plus
Bilingual abilities are a plus
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Professional, personable, and willing to take initiative

Schedule

This is an in-person position at our Cypress, TX office for 32 hours per week.

Hours are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, four days per week.

Monday and Friday are required workdays. The employee will also work two days between Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and may choose their consistent day off from those three days.

There is potential for this position to grow into a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role in the future.

Compensation

$20.00 per hour
