What You Will Do In This Role:

Operates Specialized Equipment /Radiation Safety: Operates specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipmentUnderstands needs and identifies needed supplies appropriately for invasive procedures.

Ensures supplies available for procedures.
-
Employs radiation protection devices and techniques as required.
-
Independently assists physician as scrub person and operates fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely.
-
Understands and practices sterile technique Orients new employees as related to special procedure technologist dutiesParticipates in departmental performance improvement activities
-
Fulfills assigned on call obligations.
What Qualifications You Will Need:-
ARRT and Radiology Technologist – Texas Department of Health or
-
RCIS
- RCIS staff members who do not hold an ARRT certification:
-
Must be under the direct supervision of a licensed practitioner credentialed for invasive procedures (e.g., Cardiologist, Radiologist, or Vascular Surgeon); and
-
Must comply with all applicable state laws, rules, and regulations governing the performance of radiologic procedures.

Current BCLS certification required.
-
Demonstrated current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate orientation checklist
-
Maintains competency on a consistent basis (i.e. Annual Skills Checklist)
-
Challenges EKG test, or takes EKG course.
-
ACLS certification within 6 months of employment
-
Thorough technical knowledge
Able to deal with stressful situations and to stand for long periods of time
