Overview

Direct Care Professional – Residential Treatment (Males 6–17)

Shifts: Evenings Overnights Weekends Holidays (24/7/365 program)

Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Professional for Youth, where your passion for supporting young individuals will make a meaningful difference in their lives. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, structured care to youth with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, and mental health conditions such as PTSD and autism. Your energetic approach will foster a safe, nurturing environment that promotes growth, resilience, and positive behavior. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in behavioral health, crisis management, and social work while making a lasting impact on the youth you serve.

About the Role
We are hiring Direct Care Professionals to supervise and support male youth ages 6–17 in a licensed General Residential Operation/Residential Treatment Center. This position requires reliability, patience, and the ability to maintain a safe, structured environment at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Provide active supervision and maintain safety at all times
Support youth through daily routines, hygiene, meals, chores, and bedtime
Model appropriate behavior and reinforce program expectations
Document behaviors, incidents, and required reports
Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, and treatment guidelines
Work collaboratively with the care team
Stay alert and engaged during all shifts, including overnights
Transport youth to school, appointments, recreational activities
Ensure that facility remains orderly and clean during and at the conclusion of your shift
Assist with other chores such as meal preparation and keeping kitchen area clean

Requirements

Must be 21 years or older
Must have reliable, insured transportation
Must have an eligible driving record
Must pass a background check and drug screening
Complete and stay current with all required ongoing training
Able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Able to remain calm, consistent, and professional
Able to supervise youth ages 6–17 and maintain safety at all times

Working Conditions

Daily outside activities are mandatory even in cooler and warmer weather. Escorting and supervising youth during activities such as the park, swimming, amusement park, museums, etc, NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND

Duties

Provide direct supervision and support to youth with various needs in residential or community settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Implement individualized care plans that incorporate behavior management strategies and applied behavior analysis techniques to promote positive behaviors
Assist with daily activities such as medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Conduct intake assessments and ongoing data collection to track behavioral health progress and update medical records accurately
Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations using crisis intervention and crisis management skills to de-escalate conflicts and ensure safety
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical staff, and educators to coordinate care plans and support services
Support youth with special education needs by implementing tailored educational strategies and behavior management techniques

Experience

Prior experience working with children or youth in a behavioral health or educational setting is highly preferred
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, behavior management strategies, and addiction counseling is advantageous
Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD care, or other behavioral health conditions is desirable
Ability to accurately monitor vital signs, administer medication safely, and maintain detailed medical records using medical terminology
Experience in data collection related to behavioral health or patient care enhances your ability to contribute effectively
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of medical documentation
Excellent communication skills for intake procedures, patient care coordination, and collaborating within a team environment
