Social Media Content Coordinator
Part-Time | Plano, TX | With Full Time Growth Opportunity
We are looking for a creative, organized, and highly motivated Social Media Content Coordinator to take ownership of content for three distinct brands: two established dance and performing arts studios and the owner's personal brand.
This position has the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right person.
We are ready to move away from generic, templated social media content and build a stronger, more recognizable online presence. We want someone who can get inside our businesses, understand our culture, capture what's actually happening, and turn it into content people want to watch and engage with.
This is not a remote-only social media position, and it is not a role where we will hand you a list of posts to create each week.
We need someone who enjoys being where the action is—inside classes, at performances, during special events and behind the scenes—and who naturally sees content opportunities as they're happening.
What You'll Be Responsible For
You'll help manage the social media presence for three separate brands, each with its own audience, voice and goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Visit both studio locations regularly, with a minimum of one scheduled on-site content capture session each week
- Capture high-quality photo and video content from classes, rehearsals, teachers, students, behind-the-scenes moments and studio life
- Attend priority events such as recitals, performances, theatre productions, summer camps, Parents' Night Out and other special events as scheduled
- Provide same-day social media coverage for major events, including capturing and posting Stories, photos, video, and other relevant content throughout the event
- Create and edit engaging Reels and other short-form video content
- Create feed posts, carousels, graphics and Stories
- Write captions and schedule/publish content
- Maintain an organized content calendar across all three brands
- Develop original content for each brand rather than relying on duplicated or recycled posts across accounts
- Understand the different audiences and personalities of each brand and create accordingly
- Stay current on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok trends
- Identify trends that make sense for our brands and put your own creative spin on them
- Come to content sessions with a plan for what you want to capture
- Proactively identify content opportunities instead of waiting to be told what to film
- Monitor engagement and content performance
- Be available for occasional time-sensitive or emergency social media communications, such as weather-related studio closures, schedule changes or other urgent announcements that may need to be posted outside of normal working hours
- Provide a simple monthly analytics recap identifying what's working, what isn't and what we should do more of
Typical Weekly Content Goals
Content needs will vary based on what's happening in the studios, but a typical week may include:
- Approximately 6–8 original short-form videos/Reels across the three brands
- Approximately 3–5 additional original feed posts or carousels
- Consistent Stories throughout the week
- Same-day social media coverage of major studio events, including performances, recitals, theatre productions, competitions, camps, and other priority events. Content should be captured, created and posted while the event is happening or on the same day—not saved solely for future content.
- Original content creation and posting for the owner's personal brand
- Ongoing engagement and social media management
Content duplicated across multiple brand accounts does not count as multiple deliverables.
We're looking for quality, consistency, creativity and growth—not posting just to check a box.
Who We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have hands-on experience creating content for Instagram, Facebook and/or TikTok
- Are confident filming and editing short-form video
- Have a strong eye for what makes compelling social content
- Regularly follow social media trends and understand how to adapt them to a brand
- Are highly organized and able to manage multiple accounts and deadlines
- Can work independently without needing a detailed list of what to create every week
- Naturally recognize moments that will make great content
- Are comfortable working around children, teens, parents and staff
- Understand the importance of professionalism when representing a youth-focused business
- Are comfortable occasionally working evenings and weekends for performances, special events, and time-sensitive communications
- Have experience in dance, theatre, performing arts, cheer, drill team or a related industry — strongly preferred
Schedule & Compensation
Compensation: $25/hr
This is a part-time position designed around approximately 20 hours per week.
The schedule is flexible, but this is not a set Monday–Friday desk schedule. Some work can be completed remotely, while content capture must happen on-site.
Weekly schedules may shift around performances, recitals, camps and special events. An event-heavy weekend, for example, may replace some of the normal weekday content schedule.
Because this role manages our active social media channels, occasional responsiveness outside of the normal weekly schedule is required for urgent communications. Weather closures and similar situations happen infrequently, but when they do, we need someone who can get accurate information posted quickly.
Opportunity for Growth
We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
For the right person who demonstrates creativity, initiative, organization and an ability to grow our brands, this position has the opportunity to expand in responsibility, compensation, and potentially into a full-time role.
We aren't looking for someone to simply maintain our social media. We're looking for someone who wants to help us build it.
How We'll Measure Success
Success in this role isn't simply measured by how many times we post.
We'll also look at:
- Consistency and quality of content
- Engagement
- Reach and video views
- Follower growth
- Increasing visibility within our local community
- Social media inquiries and leads
- Performance of different content types
- Ability to consistently bring new ideas and trends to our brands
To Apply
Please submit:
- Your resume
- Links to social media accounts you've managed or contributed to
- Examples of short-form video/Reels you've created
- A portfolio, if available
- A brief explanation of your experience with dance, performing arts, youth programs, or similar industries
Please do not apply without providing examples of your social media or content creation work.
We're looking for someone who wants to create, experiment and grow—not someone waiting for us to tell them what to post.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
