Full Job Description

GTS Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced PEIMS / Student Information Systems (SIS) Director to support K-12 education clients across Texas. This role serves as a trusted advisor to school districts by providing expertise in PEIMS, TSDS, TEDS, student information systems, and state reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing PEIMS submissions, ensuring data integrity, supporting student information systems, and partnering with district personnel to maintain compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements. This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional customer service, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements.

QualificationsEducation

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
TASBO certification(s) preferred

Required Knowledge & Skills

Extensive knowledge of Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS)
Extensive experience with Texas Web-Enabled Data Standards (TWEDS)
Strong knowledge of the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH)
Experience with Texas Student Data System (TSDS) and the Individual Operational Data Store (IODS), including near real-time publishing requirements
Experience with K-12 Student Information Systems (SIS), including:
Student Enrollment
Attendance
Scheduling
Gradebook
Discipline
Experience supporting PEIMS submissions and data validation
Ability to analyze large datasets and identify data quality issues
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, databases, and reporting tools
Experience creating documentation and training materials
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and client engagements simultaneously
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
Ability to maintain confidential student and district information

Experience

Minimum of 3 years supporting PEIMS/TEDS data standards in a Texas K-12 environment
Minimum of 3 years managing PEIMS coding, validation, collection, and state submissions
Experience supporting or administering a Student Information System (SIS)
Consulting or multi-district support experience is preferred

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary PEIMS and Student Information Systems consultant for assigned GTS K-12 clients.
Coordinate the collection, validation, integration, and submission of PEIMS data in accordance with TEA requirements and Texas Education Data Standards.
Assist school districts in preparing accurate and timely PEIMS submissions while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Support and monitor TSDS and IODS data publishing processes, including troubleshooting validation errors and data discrepancies.
Review reports, edits, and validation results to ensure data accuracy and integrity prior to state submissions.
Develop queries, reports, and data analysis tools to identify inconsistencies and improve data quality.
Partner with district administrators, registrars, PEIMS coordinators, and business office staff to validate attendance, enrollment, and student records.
Conduct data quality assessments and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to TEA guidelines, the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH), and PEIMS/TEDS standards.
Provide implementation support, software guidance, and functional expertise for Student Information Systems and related applications.
Deliver virtual and onsite training for district staff on PEIMS processes, coding standards, SIS functionality, and best practices.
Create and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials.
Stay current on TEA updates, PEIMS requirements, TSDS enhancements, and legislative changes impacting student data reporting.
Participate in regional workshops, user groups, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Build trusted relationships with client districts by providing exceptional customer service and proactive communication.
Collaborate with internal GTS teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
Maintain accurate project documentation and client records.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Must pass a criminal background Fingerprint check upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Frontline TEAMS, Skyward, Ascender, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, or other Texas SIS platforms
TASBO Certification(s)
Experience providing consulting or implementation services
Experience presenting training sessions or workshops
Knowledge of SQL reporting or advanced data analysis tools
