Full Job Description

Credit Analyst

Do numbers tell a story to you? Do you enjoy digging into financial information, spotting trends, and solving problems? If so, we'd love to meet you!

At Harmony Bank, our Credit Analysts play an important role in helping us make sound lending decisions. You'll work closely with our lending team to analyze financial information, assess risk, and prepare credit presentations that help us serve our customers while protecting the bank.

The best part? Previous underwriting experience isn't required. If you have banking experience, a strong analytical mindset, and a willingness to learn, we'll provide the credit training you need to be successful.

What You'll Be Doing

Analyze new loan requests, renewals, and prospective credit relationships.
Review business financial statements and understand how they work together to tell the complete financial picture.
Perform financial analysis, including ratio analysis, trend analysis, cash flow analysis, and profitability measurements.
Evaluate collateral and assess the bank's potential risk exposure.
Research and evaluate industry trends and other external factors that could impact repayment.
Prepare clear, well-organized credit memorandums and other documentation used during the approval process.
Monitor existing loan relationships for compliance with loan agreements.
Prepare documentation exception reports, collateral reports, and other management reports.
Follow bank credit policy and underwriting guidelines while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Work closely with lenders and other departments to support quality lending decisions.
Jump in to help with other projects as needed.

What We're Looking For

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working with financial statements and numbers.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good judgment and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize work and stay organized.
A team player who enjoys learning and collaborating with others.
Strong work ethic and a genuine interest in commercial credit and banking.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
General banking experience is preferred.
Ability to interpret financial statements and identify key trends.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
