Full Job Description

Job Summary
Purpose: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of Human Resources including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits and leave and enforcing company policies and practices.

Reports To

Chief Operating Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Support HR Lead on maintain oversight of employee benefit insurance billing and collaborate with the broker to ensure accurate monthly benefit invoicing.

· Assists with benefit enrollments with insurance broker.

· Manages and completes paperwork on leave of absences, FMLA, and employment verification documents. Ensure COBRA notification occurs. Performs ongoing follow-up with COBRA administration of valid address and receipt of term employee payments.

· Support in recruitment processes, including

o Job posting

o Review of resumes

o Conducting phone screenings

o Conducting reference checks

· Coordinates and assists with the development and ongoing review of PHP’s internal training program for all staff level positions.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and department scalability.

· Coordinate Monthly On-Call Schedule

· Coordinates physician specialist meetings with affiliated health care systems and private community.

· Conduct site rounding with leadership to support employee engagement, culture initiatives, and operational consistency.

· Performs training module and passes E-Verify test, in compliance with US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

· Manage overall HR compliance oversight

· HIPAA/OSHA program governance maintains up to date OSHA/HIPAA compliance trainings for staff and providers.

· Coordinates and monitors employee compliance within computer security and phishing testing program.

· Processes biweekly payroll for non-physician employees. Ensures complete time recording for employees, including call pay for nursing, and other roles. Educate department leaders for consistently missed times. Processes extra bonus payrolls.

· Makes changes to personal records on deductions/ taxes throughout the year. Stays current on payroll and benefit systems to ensure effective accounting support. Seeks opportunities for enhancements and ways to streamline processes within payroll system. Facilitates employee understanding of payroll procedures.

· Compiles payroll data such as garnishments, insurance, and 401k deductions.

· Verifies data from outside systems, including benefits portal and Fidelity, to ensure changes have been transferred into payroll before processing.

Onboards new employees including:

· Conducts pre-employment and background screenings on all hires.

· Completes new employee set up/ additional access request with IT director.

· Adds employees to human resources systems, including payroll, benefits (health, vision, dental, disability, Health Savings Account, and 401k)

· Adds employees to time keeping and payroll processing system

· Reviews Employee Handbook and completes new hire paperwork with employee.

· Orders employee access badge, parking permits and uniforms.

FLSA Status: Exempt | Full-Time

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

· 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.

· Healthcare industry experience preferred.

· Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, employee relations, and HR best practices.

· Experience supporting multi-site operations preferred.

· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Experience with Paylocity Payroll System required.

· SHRM-CP certification required.
