Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Healthcare IT Senior Security Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. In this vital role, you will oversee the organization’s security posture, conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments, and implement robust security measures across diverse IT infrastructure environments. Your expertise will ensure the protection of sensitive data, compliance with industry standards, and rapid incident response. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network security, threat detection, and security frameworks such as NIST standards and ISO 27000 series, contributing to the continuous improvement of our security protocols.

Duties

Lead the development and maintenance of system security plans aligned with industry standards including ISO and NIST frameworks.
Conduct vulnerability research, assessments, and penetration testing to identify potential threats within LAN, WAN, SAN, and cloud environments.
Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems such as Splunk or SolarWinds for real-time threat detection and incident response.
Manage network security devices including firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, VPNs, and Cisco ISE for identity & access management.
Perform system hardening on operating systems like Linux (Debian, CentOS), Windows, macOS, and openSUSE to mitigate vulnerabilities.
Implement encryption protocols such as PKI and IPsec to secure data in transit and at rest across cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and on-premises systems.
Coordinate incident recovery efforts by analyzing logs, executing disaster recovery plans, and supporting high availability configurations.
Support vulnerability management programs by conducting regular assessments using tools like Fiddler, SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor, or PRTG.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cybersecurity initiatives including threat intelligence sharing, system deployment via DevOps practices (CI/CD), and compliance audits under FISMA or FedRAMP standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of attack frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK), emerging threats in IoT environments, and evolving cybersecurity best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced certifications such as CISSP or CISA are preferred.
Six years experience
Proven expertise with network security devices such as Cisco routers/switches, Juniper equipment, Cisco ASA firewalls, and Palo Alto appliances.
Strong understanding of security standards including ISO 27000 series, PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), DIACAP, RMF (Risk Management Framework), COBIT governance framework.
Hands-on experience with SIEM tools like Splunk or SolarWinds for log analysis and threat detection & response.
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure; familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere or Citrix is advantageous.
Proficiency in scripting languages including Python or Bash for automation tasks related to system administration and vulnerability research.
Familiarity with open-source operating systems such as Debian Linux or openSUSE; experience managing enterprise environments using Ansible or Terraform is desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex security data; strong communication skills to articulate risks effectively.
