JOB SUMMARY
The position is required to Oversee thermoforming process equipment production parameters, tuning the in-line thermoforming process equipment to ensure optimal performance of machinery and adherence to production schedules. Develop and implement process improvements for thermoforming processing equipment with a focus on increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement process improvements for thermoforming in-line equipment, focusing on increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
- Oversee thermoforming process technicians and production processes, ensuring optimal performance of machinery and adherence to production schedules.
- Ensure all thermoforming activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Train and mentor staff on thermoforming techniques, best practices, and safety protocols to build a skilled and knowledgeable process technician team.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop and refine thermoforming processes, incorporating feedback from production staff and quality assurance.
- Maintain and troubleshoot thermoforming equipment to minimize downtime and ensure high productivity, assisting maintenance with developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
- Coordinate with quality assurance to resolve any issues related to thermoformed products, working together to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of thermoforming operations, including production data, maintenance logs, and quality reports, and report performance metrics to senior management.
- Conduct root cause analysis on production issues, implementing solutions to prevent recurrence and improve overall process stability and performance.
- Work closely with the engineering team to develop improved designs in parts and tooling to optimize the production process.
- Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans, ensuring alignment with production capabilities and quality standards.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure all manufacturing aspects are considered, including tooling, materials, and production processes, identifying potential risks and mitigating them.
- Consult design for manufacturability (DFM) guidelines to streamline production and reduce costs, promoting standardization and modularity where possible.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality, and supply chain, to ensure seamless product development and launch, facilitating communication and coordination.
- Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety, implementing lean manufacturing principles and other best practices.
- Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies and design practices to drive innovation within the organization, attend industry conferences and training sessions.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Prior direct personnel management experience, strong organizational and leadership skills and the ability to build effective teams.
· 10 years’ experience with in-line thermoforming processing working directly on in-line machinery to set up and optimize the process parameters
· Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to define actionable conclusions and make decisions to resolve manufacturing issues and disruptions.
Prior Quality Management System (QMS) experience.
· Ability to analyze manufacturing operations, identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and present concepts/ideas to senior management for approval. Record and report on production results, advising upper management of potential or actual shortfalls.
· Proven ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines and objectives.
· Prioritize and plan the work activities of others, using resources and time efficiently.
· Proficient in using a variety of computer programs and systems, including Word, Excel, Email, PowerPoint, etc., at an intermediate level.

Work Environment
-Office working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require
local and international travel, overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
-The Technical Services role has daily stress due to customer deadlines and responsibility
in accuracy. The incumbent is faced with constant interruptions and repeatedly meets
with others.
-Plant working conditions include noise in excess of 50 lbs, Temperature ranging from
5– 34 Celsius, and some dust. Personal Protection Equipment is provided.
