Tax Associate

North Dallas, TX

$70,000 to $85,000

Another year in tax should give you more than a longer list of returns completed.

It should help you improve your judgement, become more confident with clients, and understand how the work fits into the bigger picture.

This independent CPA firm in North Dallas TX is looking for a Tax Associate who wants broader experience and closer access to experienced professionals.

You will prepare individual and business returns, support tax research and planning, and gain a better understanding of how client relationships are managed throughout the year.

Because the firm is independently owned, your work will be visible. You will have direct communication with senior team members, regular opportunities to ask questions, and the chance to earn more responsibility as your confidence grows.

This could suit someone who enjoys public accounting but wants to feel more involved in the work rather than being one person in a large production team.

What you will be doing

Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve routine questions.

Maintain accurate workpapers and complete assignments to a high standard.

Manage competing priorities during busy periods.

The firm uses Lacerte, so previous experience would be helpful, although it is not essential.

What the firm is looking for

At least 18 months of tax experience within a CPA firm or public accounting environment.

Experience preparing both individual and business tax returns.

A degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related subject.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines.

Clear communication skills and the confidence to ask questions when needed.

A reliable and curious approach, with a genuine interest in building a long term career in tax.

You do not need to meet every requirement perfectly to start a conversation. Relevant tax experience, a strong attitude, and a willingness to keep developing will all be considered.

Compensation

$70,000 to $85,000, depending on experience.
