Tax Manager

Irving, Texas

$125,000 to $160,000

Take real ownership of your clients

Moving into a Tax Manager role should give you more than additional deadlines and a larger review list.

It should give you more influence over client relationships, greater trust in your judgment, and a clearer voice in how the work gets done.

This independent CPA firm in Irving is hiring a Tax Manager to lead client relationships, oversee high quality tax work, and work closely with Partners who remain involved in the daily running of the practice.

You will have genuine ownership of your clients rather than simply reviewing returns behind the scenes. Your contribution will be visible, your judgment will carry weight, and decisions can be made without several layers of approval.

For someone who enjoys client work, values autonomy, and wants to be part of a smaller, well run firm, this could be a meaningful next step.

You will balance compliance responsibilities with tax planning, advisory work, and year round client conversations.

What you will be doing

Manage and review federal and state tax work for individuals and closely held businesses.

Lead client relationships and act as a trusted point of contact throughout the year.

Identify tax planning opportunities and support broader advisory conversations.

Manage workflow, deadlines, and review quality across the tax team.

Coach junior professionals and help strengthen their technical skills and judgment.

Work with Partners on complex tax matters, planning opportunities, and important client decisions.

Help maintain high standards across technical quality, client service, and team performance.

What the firm is looking for

You will need strong public accounting tax experience and the confidence to manage both individual and business tax work.

The firm is open to an experienced Tax Manager or a strong Supervisor or Senior who is ready to step into broader leadership.

You should be comfortable managing client relationships, deadlines, and team workflow.

A practical, accountable approach to leadership is important.

CPA or EA credentials are preferred.
