Full Job Description

Job Summary:

Busy OB/GYN office seeking a professional and friendly Intake Medical Assistant to join our team in our Marietta location. As one of the first points of contact for our office, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations. You will bring patients from the front waiting room to the intake area and obtain their vital signs and perform testing and injections.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical office, have a cheerful disposition, excellent communication and computer skills, and is capable of multitasking. The Medical Assistant will be based in our Marietta office, but will be responsible for covering our Woodstockoffice as needed.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for bringing patients from front waiting room to the Intake area after identifying a patient by name and date of birth.
Instructing the patient on how to obtain a urine specimen.
Obtaining weight.
Open chart/prenatal flowsheets to document pertinent information.
Obtain a brief History such as Allergies, LMP, Ht, etc.
Obtain Vital Signs per protocols.
Obtain Hgb &/or Blood glucose per protocols.
Give scheduled, routine injections as ordered by a provider, and per pharmaceutical guidelines.
Orient new OB patients/provide Welcome gift bag & information.
Make OB Booklets/Handouts.
Stock exam rooms, Intake area, restrooms daily.
Maintain Dirty Utility Room, Check/ empty red bags.
Check/Monitor refrigerator temperatures and log daily.
Clean and do controls on Glucose and Urine machines.
Clean Autoclaves per manufacturer instructions every month. Check with autoclave strips every week.
Check Emergency Kits every month, replace or notify supervisor of expired, missing, or damaged items.
Monitor supplies and needs on a weekly basis.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all inclusive.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Previous experience working in a medical office is preferred. eClinicalWorks experience preferred.
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
Ability to work independently as well as functioning as part of a team.
Detail-oriented.
Multi-tasking and being able to stay positive is key!
Reporting to work, as scheduled and on time, is essential.
