Full Job Description

Main Functions:

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) calls on National Chain Accounts and Architectural/Design Firms to

specify dynamic and decorative interior wall systems for schools, health care facilities, restaurants,

grocery / convenience / drug stores, fitness centers and other commercial interior spaces. In this role, the

TSM is responsible for ensuring continued sales growth for the assigned geographic territory by working

with the existing customer base and developing new accounts. The TSM will cover the states of

Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South

Carolina for National Chain Accounts and North Carolina, South Carolina, and Louisiana for Architectural

markets. The TSM will ideally be located geographically within the territory.

Specific Responsibilities

 Research and become knowledgeable of architectural projects and expanding National Chain

Accounts utilizing the knowledge base tools provided by Marlite as well as other data reports.

 Cultivate relationships with all current customers - understand their business, their needs, and

opportunities of how we can serve them better, providing training as required.

 Understand the complete distribution network within the regions.

 Identify, and develop new customer accounts to facilitate further market penetration and sales

growth.

 Provide training and product demonstrations as required.

 Responsible for achieving annual sales and profit goals.

 Develop and maintain full business pipeline of prospective accounts.

 Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and

other research.

 Utilize CRM system to show pipeline of opportunities, build funnel of activities, and realization of

current market conditions.

General Responsibility:

HIGH-LEVEL DUTIES % OF TIME

Management and development of existing national chain accounts 30%

Identify and develop new national chain accounts 30%

Develop product specifications with architectural design firms 20%

Cultivate and build relationships with new and existing customers 15%

Utilize CRM to build activities, log specifications, and track

opportunities

Personal Competency, Skills, Abilities:

 Minimum of five years of successful sales experience required

 Sales experience calling on National Retail Chain Accounts and/or to the Architect and Design

community is preferred

 Willingness to travel and demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while meeting

established sales quotas

 Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance, with high level of integrity and work ethic

 Solid experience in opportunity qualification (often involving multiple key decision makers), previsit

planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management

 Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques and have problem

identification and objection resolution skills

 Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers, using exceptional listening, verbal

and written communication, and presentation skills

 Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm, with the ability to work

individually, and as part of a team

 Able to manage multiple priorities, be self-motivated and highly organized, able to work

independently and adaptable to a diverse and demanding environment

 Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

 Advanced user in Excel and PowerPoint is preferred

 Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 Strong presentation and training skills

 Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred

 Minimum of an Associate’s degree and/or commensurate experience in value, scales or degree

with specific work requirements

Working Conditions and Physical Job Requirements:

 Home office environment with appropriate office equipment, electronic systems (hardware &

software) to effectively accomplish required work assignments and management of function

 Travel is required (generally 50 - 75%) within geographic territory for face-to-face sales calls and

other territory related activities

 Sitting, standing, lifting (generally under 20 lbs.), bending in performance of office related duties.

 Ability to communicate verbally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial.

 Regular use of phones and email for communication is essential

 Conducting virtual (Teams and Zoom) meetings on a regular basis. It is essential to have an

adequate home office / background space.
