Experience Coordinator
Reports to: Vice President of Programs
Location: Behind Every Door, Dallas, Texas
Status: Full-Time, Exempt, In-Person
Salary Range: $55,000–$60,000
Position Overview
Behind Every Door is seeking an energetic, relational, and highly organized Experience Coordinator who loves bringing people together for a meaningful purpose. This person will create opportunities for volunteers, donors, corporate partners, and community members to use their time and talents to enhance the experiences of our program participants.
The Experience Coordinator will turn interest into involvement by recruiting, engaging and volunteers, connecting corporate donors to service opportunities, curate experiences, and supporting program communications. Working across departments, this individual must listen well, respond to organizational needs, and influence others without relying on formal authority.

Essential ResponsibilitiesVolunteer, Corporate, and Community Engagement
- Identify and create meaningful individual and group volunteer opportunities that support programs, events, and organizational needs.
- Recruit volunteers through businesses, churches, colleges, community organizations, and other partners.
- Develop strategies to increase volunteer participation, satisfaction, and retention.
- Build relationships with volunteers through timely communication, appreciation, feedback, and continued opportunities to serve.
- Use Virtuous to identify corporate donors and engage their employees in volunteer service.
- Work with corporate representatives to match their employee-engagement goals with Behind Every Door’s needs.
- Build relationships with vendors, donors, and community partners that extend beyond a single event or contribution.
- Help volunteers understand how their service advances the mission and improves the participant experience.
Engagement Communications and Coordination
- Use VOMO to post volunteer opportunities, manage registrations, communicate with volunteers, and track participation.
- Maintain accurate volunteer, donor, partner, and engagement information in VOMO, Virtuous, Dash, and other systems.
- Review participation data and volunteer feedback to identify trends and recommend ways to increase engagement.
- Support program communications, including e-blasts, text messages, announcements, reminders, and other mass communications.
- Ensure information is accurate, timely, engaging, and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Prepare reports related to volunteer recruitment, participation, retention, satisfaction, and corporate engagement.
Project and Event Coordination
- Coordinate volunteer involvement in programs, community events, operational projects, and special initiatives.
- Manage project and event logistics, including timelines, assignments, materials, volunteer communication, vendor coordination, setup, and follow-up.
- Create clear plans and ensure responsibilities, deadlines, and next steps are communicated across teams.
- Anticipate needs, address challenges, and help ensure experiences are organized, welcoming, and aligned with Behind Every Door’s standards.
- Provide project-based and administrative support that strengthens program delivery and participant experiences.
Collaboration and Leadership
The Experience Coordinator will not initially supervise employees but will provide direction and support to volunteers and volunteer groups. This position works closely with leaders and staff across departments and must be able to build trust, gather information, respond to competing priorities, and move projects forward collaboratively.
The coordinator will independently manage assigned projects and engagement activities within established guidelines. Decisions involving significant resources, external commitments, or broader program impact will be made in partnership with the Vice President of Programs or the appropriate organizational leader.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; five or more years of relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Experience in volunteer management, community engagement, nonprofit programming, corporate engagement, donor relations, event coordination, project management, community outreach, partnership development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, coordinate, motivate, or lead volunteers without direct supervisory authority.
- Experience collaborating with staff, organizational leaders, donors, vendors, and community partners.
- Familiarity with VOMO, Virtuous, Dash, Mailchimp, mass-texting platforms, or similar systems is preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and project-management skills.
- Experience in a nonprofit, community-based, or faith-based organization is preferred.

Work Requirements
This is an in-person, exempt position based at Behind Every Door. Occasional evening and weekend availability is required to support programs, volunteer activities, and special events. Local travel may also be required for meetings, outreach, partnership development, and events.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
