Objective & Overview:
Looking for a smart, detail oriented and patient-centered dialysis nurse RN to serve our patients consistent with our mission to deliver patient wellbeing through accessible, effective and delightful care. The objective for the position is someone that is aligned with our vision to make Carmen the best [kidney] HEALTH company in the world by providing " peace of mind" to our patients and "anywhere, anytime" availability. The RN will always work within our operating guideline of SERÉ: ensuring patient Safety, providing a delightful Experience, achieving the best clinical Results with exceptional Economy and efficiency. We are looking for a person that can work well with others across the entire healthcare operation, including nurses, technicians, doctors, dietitians, social workers and all support functions.

Carmen is unique in providing access to free kidney screenings, has a multidisciplinary approach to help people with chronic kidney disease, and offers state of the art in-center and at home dialysis therapies.

Headquartered in San Antonio, Carmen currently has 3 clinics in Floresville, Bulverde and Lakeway, Texas.
The company’s plan is to have clinics across the nation to provide patient choice and convenience particularly along with a digital presence to be available “anywhere, anytime.”

Carmen builds on more than a decade of experience providing patient wellbeing from Médica Santa Carmen (MSC) in Mexico. From its founding in 2011, MSC is today the preeminent network of kidney centers providing over 1,100 dialysis therapies per day and locations inside the Mayo Clinic affiliate and American-British hospitals. Part of MSC’s success comes from its “low cost/high quality” model which is enabled by technology, process and systems engineering to scale and its amazing people and culture to make the difference in each patient’s life.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

Knowledge of and comply with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including health care professionals practice act requirements as they pertain to staff assisted hemodialysis program and patient care requirements.
Train patient (and/or care partner) in the practice of self-care Hemodialysis upon meeting federal and state regulations governing Registered Nurse qualifications.
May assist with improving patient outcomes through tracking and trending of program and patient performance, use of critical thinking skills and root cause analysis to improve patient and quality outcomes. May assist in obtaining data for the continuous quality improvement activities.
Obtain routine and non-routine laboratory tests as ordered and communicate critical lab values and urgent patient needs to the responsible physician or physician extender in a timely manner.
May complete and document monthly review of patient medication profiles as directed. Administer medications as ordered by the physician.
Provide patient education and follow up as needed.
Document all nursing services in the Electronic Medical Record including but not limited to training sessions, routine and non-routine in-person interactions, and phone conversations. Documentation should accurately reflect the patient status and nursing interventions and be written to ensure continuity of care.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Current RN license in Texas. All licenses must be maintained as current and in good standing. Must obtain applicable state license, based on assignment, within state specified time frames.
1-2 years or more current nursing experience; minimum of 6 months experience in dialysis in last 18 months in Hemodialysis.
Flexibility with schedule and willingness to travel to assignment locations throughout rural Texas (around Austin).
CPR certification required prior to patient care assignment.
Bilingual preferred
Ability to meet minimum hiring standards which may include additional background clearances and orientation requirements if applicable to the program assigned to for employment.
