Patient Service Specialist (Patient Service Representative)

Grapevine, TX

$18.00/hour

Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist to join a busy outpatient therapy clinic. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional patient experience while supporting daily front office operations.

The ideal candidate is professional, self-motivated, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong customer service and administrative backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Greet and check in patients
Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions
Schedule and confirm appointments
Complete patient registration and intake
Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations
Collect copays and patient payments
Maintain accurate patient records and data entry
Scan, fax, and organize patient documentation
Support clinical staff with administrative needs
Assist with cash balancing and front office operations
Provide outstanding customer service to patients and staff

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Strong customer service experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

Medical, dental, or healthcare front office experience
Insurance verification experience
Scheduling and patient registration experience
Administrative experience in a high-volume office setting

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday
8-hour shifts with a 1-hour lunch break
Rotating schedules between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday
Fridays operate between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM
Occasional flexibility for schedule adjustments may be available, but regular attendance during assigned hours is expected

Work Environment

On-site in Grapevine, TX
High-volume, multi-discipline outpatient clinic
Supports more than 600 patient visits per week
Fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking and customer service skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grapevine, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
